About the gate closing, I'll have to ask Risk. It's probably due to stepmania/hardware or something like that.
For the difficulty menu, we tried to implement it but it didn't work.
There's a bunch of stuffs we wanted to add to the theme but couldn't unless we rewrote the song wheel. Such as adding more sorting, difficulty menu, have artwork for the categories, etc. For the most part, the graphics are done, we just can't add them.

The doors thing is definitely possible, and you definitely do not need to rewrite the song wheel to have categories include graphics.

I figured out on how to get the timer animation I took the menu time metric from Gene2008 ddr 2013 theme and used it on the theme
EDIT: I was looking at Jindev's aka Sillybear's DDR 2013 theme on Youtube it looks like when you press the start button it skips the tile screen and goes to either the E-Amusement screen (Which in case the Profile select screen) or to the Caution and proceeds as normal I know it's possible to do this but I Don't know how though but I figure it out I'll get back to you guys

Using reiaya tutorials i customized this theme to also include some CS versions and other mixes, so i also made the graphics for the group names and the jackets:

I got the doors to close on ScreenSelectMusic rather than ScreenStageInformation. I'll contribute what I edited tomorrow.
Also, the options screen over ScreenSelectMusic is technically already in the theme. You just have to press the slash "/" key to access it, but it doesn't have the difficulty list or automatically proceed to the song after you hit OK. I would think that if you got the options working over the song wheel then you can make the difficulty screen.
Also, what about proper styling for the stage numbers/titles on ScreenGameplay? I tried to get it working but the best I could do was copy from another theme (I believe 2013, which still isn't accurate).

I'm not sure if this was looked into already, but could it be possible if you guys made the combo numbers closer together? I've been getting into course play quite a lot and it's always irking me whenever I get 1000+ combos and the digit on the far left is halfway off of the screen. (Minor nit-pick I know, but it's one of those noticeable things)
Also could it be possible to get more accurate combo colors? Like after a combo is broken and you start getting marvelous right after it goes white instead of staying that blue color used for when you get a good. Another minor thing, but it's touches like that that I appreciate.

Just made the pull request.
I was referring to how the current version of the theme shows weird stage names, especially for ES and EES; those are shown as Extra1 and Extra2 respectively. But from what you said there, it seems like that's been fixed.

@pkwp Can you share me another sets of Player Combo number sprites? Same as the first but this time no white borders (inside and outside) and shadows around. I can help you update the player combo. Should be the same sprite dimensions and distances as in with white borders. PM me for the files. I will be also using all sets with white borders from this theme.

I can't for the life of me get this to work, most likely because I am an idiot so I hope someone can help me.
I simply downloaded the latest stepmania 5 build from stepmania.com and downloaded this Theme and placed it in the themes folder, just like I remember when I used to play on 3.9.
However, and this is not the first time I've tried, when I switch to the time in menu options it literally becomes unplayable. Every moment some error pops up that I can choose to retry, ignore, etc. and it simply doesn't work. Like I said, I've tried this in the past, with the 2013 theme, and had similar results. Some might think because I did use a modern theme for my top 10 videos with SM that I got it working, but you'd be wrong. Just to play a song took minutes of painstaking clicking ignore just for the song to finally start. I don;t know why I have this problem since I never hear anyone else mention it and it bugs the crap out of me.

@Dr.D In SM5, when an error occurs it display a message but when in windowed mode, it's a pop up. I would assume you're using windowed mode?
As for the time in menu options, are you turning on the timer? If so, you might want to disable it.
If these two solutions doesn't improve anything, providing your info.txt and log.txt files located in the Logs folder should give us more info on what is actually the problem.
The theme is still in beta and thus, we still have a few errors to fix.

Is there a way for the game to ignore those errors in Windowed mode? They usually happen in the DDR 2014 simfiles when a folder has missing graphics.
