This might seem weird, but for IIDX, I would put in some kind of Intermediate difficulty for songs that have ridiculous difficulty jumps between levels. Examples:
Click Again (HYPER 6; ANOTHER 11)
PLEASE DON'T GO (HYPER 7; ANOTHER 12)
Funny shuffle (HYPER 6; ANOTHER 11)
Click Again (HYPER 6; ANOTHER 11)
PLEASE DON'T GO (HYPER 7; ANOTHER 12)
Funny shuffle (HYPER 6; ANOTHER 11)

The point is you play other songs in your difficulty level and go back to the songs you wished were harder later.
At least that was my motivation to try other things out at one point.
Enjoy Click Again [h] now while you're at the 6's, but carry on with the 7's, 8's, etc... It will come back.

And my point is there are those that may want a slight increase or slight decrease in difficulty, but still would like a fair challenge for a particular song that they really like.
