I had an idea. We could make a keyboardmania simulation by just using Synthesia. The charts would just be midis. I want your opinion.
We could also do this for beatmania too, but it would be harder.

....I don't think there is anyone that is really in need of a keyboardmania simulator for PC, there is probably one out there on the internet already.
*searches*Well here you go. It seems like all the links in the site are not working, so now there really is no keyboardmania sim so far as what I can come up with.
Also beatmania already has a PC simulator, it's called Lunatic Rave 2. There is even a guide on how to install and set up the game.
You're welcome.

Well if beatmania already has one that's fine. But we could still use Synthesia as a keyboardmania simulator. I bet if we made lots of new songs for it, more people would play it. I have lots of Konami song midis that we could use.

Eh, not too interested. The game was very interesting when I played it at MAGFest, but WAY too complicated unless you knew how to play a piano/keyboard beforehand. I can't say for sure that keyboardmania was a 'hit' in the BEMANI spectrum, but it sure as hell was a very tricky game to master.
You'd probably need people who know how to code using Synthesia to convert it into a modded version of the program to make it look, feel, and play like keyboardmania, but so far I have yet to see anyone with a drive to make a project like that.
If all else fails, you can just wait or look for the official AC HDD data on the internet somewhere and download it.

The Keyboardmania simulator I remember is Doremimania.
I found a site that's still hosting it. It still seems to work on Windows 7.

Can you make custom songs?

Yeah, you can. If I recall correctly, you can even convert .mid files in .pms files, ready to be played with DoremiMania (with an external program, that's it).

I'm just waiting on Synthesia to implement MP3 background tracks.
