Do you think KONAMI will release any new DDR mixes for the United States after DDR X2?

I'm pretty sure they were talking about arcade releases, in which case, no.

Definitely not. Market's way too small, arcades outside of Asia are quickly going the way of the Dodo. Dance games are a long and gone "fad" if you can call it that, (besides that what's it called... Dance Central game.) At least we have Stepmania and simfiles.

They aren't releasing new DDRs in japan either. If we're lucky, MAYBE we'll get some DDR 2013/2014 machines in the US and somehow get to take part in the e-amuse updates.

It's likely not to happen -Viper- but what really ticks me off is that they stopped on that iOS version of DDR (not DDR Dance Wars) that was released years ago. They could of at least kept that going in Japan.

None of those are arcade release, and they both include songs only from DDR X2 and previous.
I'm talking about a DDR arcade release with songs from DDR X3 and 2013, and maybe some new ones.

Answer: NONE, but there technically are, in fact, there are currently 13 machines in the United States that have DDR 2013 on them.

DDR II for the Wii seems to have been the very last overseas home console release for DDR that utilized a major console, Dance Wars would technically be the very last and most recent one released (also the first one ever to be discontinued since it had to be connected to the internet for it to even work, even then the song list was pretty much like a modernized KONAMIX, songs ranging from 3rdMIX through X2).

Frankly, BEMANI only seems to care for their arcade versions in Japan more so than any other place in the world. But then why aren't they here in America? Well, tons of factors:

- Arcades in America are as dead as the COD franchise.
- Economy? It's a wishy-washy subject but arcades just don't make bank anymore for them to sustain themselves unless they have machines that make people WANT to play *coughRedemptionGamescough*.
- People already having arcade-style experiences at home for much cheaper.
- People being cheap and not wanting to go to arcades (subjective, look at above reason).

I mean the list goes on, that and frankly Konami of America is really only hanging on by a thread if they are only focusing on Metal Gear Solid and Pro Evo Soccer as their console titles, as far as I know they have not had anything come out from them in terms of a new arcade machine to be distributed in America. That and BETSONBETSON you get the drill.

Thing is, some guys have found ways to be able to get DDR X3 vs. 2ndMIX / DDR 2013 not just in America but in Europe as well. And not just DDR, but IIDX (SPADA), Pop N' Music (sunny park), jubeat (saucer), Reflec beat, hell even SOUND VOLTEX BOOTH. Can't say for sure it's 'legal', but then again DDR EXTREME was never officially released in North America yet so many popped up around arcades everywhere there was quite possibly a surplus of them back in the heydays of DDR.

It could be, it could not, the thing about DDR 2013 is that the machine is just going to be getting online updates until there is no more content to be made for DDR, DDR 2014 was simply a change in theme and more songs added to it.

Max hit the nail on the head.

A Dance Masters AC is slightly more likely in the U.S. than a new DDR game, given that such DDR-like dance games have fallen out of favor among consumers for motion-controlled games like Just Dance. But still, given the climate, its still very unlikely that Konami still cares about the U.S. arcade market.

Public places will slowly get DDR 2013 in North America, Just like how Kon has 2013 at his arcade(Under the Big top) and we have 2013 in Orlando Florida( The Geek Easy)

Well not that many places will, because it's not an official release, and its a Japanese game. It even says "For Use in Japan Only." Lol.

You'd be surprised how this can be overlooked, once again, DDR EXTREME was NEVER officially released in America yet there were THOUSANDS of them across the United States, the majority of the versions were Korean bootlegs that were ported over here, almost exactly how DDR 2013 is starting to grow little by little here in America.

Places like Gameworks, Dave and Buster, Chuck E. Cheese's, and any big chain arcade franchise WON'T have these machines there because of the licensing to get them, they need the approval of Konami to have their machines in said establishment before they can switch the power on. Places that are sort of 'Mom and Pop' like Under The Big Top, The Geek Easy, Super Arcade, Game Underground, Chinatown Fair, and more can get away with this because they're just small businesses, and they have the spot to run these machines. If it weren't for a group of people who created a separate e-amusement server (known as Programmed World), none of these machines would be able to run outside of Japan, but thankfully we can.

So I guess from now on, if we wanna play DDR, we're going to have learn how to speak Japanese.

.....

You're missing the point. I played DDR 2013, and I was easily able to find the songs I wanted to play just by looking at the CD artwork. You don't really need to know Japanese in order to play these games, and if you need help navigating the menu, I'm sure someone that's close by can help you out.

Its a joke. Of course we don't have to learn Japanese. But I just want Konami to release an English one in America.

It's highly unlikely, Konami of America would actually have to get up and do something if they wanted to release a new DDR mix here.

Take note: jokes don't translate well enough on the internet, along with sarcasm.

I believe I've heard someone else suggest this, and I think it would be awesome, and sounds like a feasable way to get at least us fans the DDR we want.

Since the current DDR cabs have PC's inside them, and are built on a embedded Windows XP system, it would make since just to take the data straight, and port it to work with regular PCs. Also provide a way to connect to the E-amuse servers and be able to participate with the Japanese and do all the events they have at the arcades in Japan (for a fee, if necessary).

For the initial release, I say release DDR 2013's, and 2014's (given the current time this was posted) songs for $60, and price the other mixes based on what count of songs are available in said mix, and also provide a one-time purchase of ALL the songs from previous mixes for one flat lower price than all the mixes individually bought.

For the DDR dance mats, they could provide their flimsy soft pad for just anyone who just got the game and don't want to blow 300 dollars on a metal dance mat, for any of the novices or new people. For the metal pads, there is the omgea pads, which from what I've heard are pretty good.

This could also segway into seeing the other Bemani games getting released here in America and Europe, following the same system as I presented. However, that's if enough desire for the game and the necessary money for it come into play.
*insert crap bemani joke here*
