So im recently start making Simfiles, and to get the BMP of the songs a was using a Webpage where i had to press the space bar at the rhythm of the song (played in windows media fire) and i get the BMP (not exactly because im not too good at making the tempo) i want to know what is the best program to get the exactly BMP of the song.

If you want for a free program that produces acceptable results, MixMeister.
If you don't mind shelling out some cash for more efficiency, Sony ACID Pro.
Both get the job done, certainly more than those mediocre "tap the button to the beat" websites.
Also, the term is "BPM" and not "BMP". Figured I'd add that in while I'm in a helping mood.

MixMeister definitely does its job, but as a rule, if the BPM has a decimal that rounds closer to the next BPM (say, 149.78), you generally round it up (and use, in this case, 150 as the BPM).

For a second I thought this thread was asking about using .bmp files as banners. Never do that lol.
Anyways, MixMeister is a great tool as aforementioned. Another rule of thumb: if the number looks much lower than expected, it's likely been halved.

To add to what have been said, sometimes MixMeister gives a weird BPM when the song actually doesn't have a constant BPM... and in that case, you should use DDReam Studio or other tools to correctly sync the simfile.

My method, I know that MixMeister is great for get the more closer BPM of a song, but remember that when someone is making a step, is very important get the right BPM including the Offset. For example.
If I am editing WE EAT AT FIVE FIVE FIVE that we know that the correct BPM is 555, but if we have a wrong Offset the song wont work correctly. in SM3.95 if im correct, the Offset is adjusted by pressing F11 or F12. So,
In my case i make simfiles but I dont use a program for get the BPM, all I make manually, the first thing I do is get the right Offset and then find the BPM. A tip:
On the Screen Edit, first, I just put an arrow in the second measure 1-2. if the first arrow hit exactly with the beginning of the song the Offset is correct and now I can find the correct BPM, make sure that when we change the first BPM the Offset always gonna change, so u have to adjusted it again.

Can I just throw this out there; mixmeister honestly should only be trusted as an ESTIMATE and not the end all be all solution to finding BPM's.
Waveform syncing a la audacity/sony acid/garangeband/reaper (I think?)/DDream Studio are much better options to trust
