Great theme Although mp3 is a bit bad for looping, as it adds silence padding. It is best to use ogg for a seamless loop. I redid some of your music loops in ogg after removing the silence padding, and it seamlessly loops in SM now. I hope you don't mind

I noticed that the Results music and the Options music doesn't loop properly. You should try using .ogg instead of .mp3.

The readme is misleading. The "ScreenGameplay underlay" folder in the zip file needs to go into :
[Stepmania Folder]\Themes\DDR Next Generation\BGAnimations
[Stepmania Folder]\Themes\DDR Next Generation\BGAnimations

yeah I can't get it to work.
You are looking at the absolutely necessary, but very visually unimpressive _fallback theme. You probably nested this custom theme in your Themes directory too deeply. The directories should go like...
%appdata%\StepMania 5\Themes\DDR Next Generation\
You can refer to this if you need a visual.

Your lagging is most likely from the dozens of errors the theme encounters whenever you do anything.Post #91 · Posted at 2014-07-17 09:18:52am 9.7 years ago

Congratulations for beating the DDR 2013 theme for sheer number of errors displayed on ScreenSelectMusic.
Over all, I'd say this theme needs a lot of polish and is not ready for release.

Writing hundreds (if not thousands) of Lua warnings to a logfile each second can cause stutter/lag, too. Perhaps we should wait for the theme's author to fix these errors.

no like the lag comes from the selectmusic screen when i choose a song and it does it in the doors

I opened StepMania with DDRNG as my theme, sort of played one song (quit out early), exited to the title screen, and quit StepMania. The entire process took less than 30 seconds, during which 8771 Lua warnings were written to disk.
Processing eight thousand, seven hundred, seventy one Lua warnings can cause stutter/lag. Perhaps we should wait for the theme's author to fix these errors.

Thank You. I'm not used to the new UI for Winzip.

What would I assign that key to on an arcade cabinet?

Umm. I don't think there's any arcade cabinet with a key like that... I know the ITG 2 cab has an extra button but I'm pretty sure that's always being used.
Alternatively, if you do somehow happen to have an extra, unused button, map it to "Select" in the keymaps.
