Good luck getting anyone to really participate in this thread as actively as the Florida thread.
You tried, but it's basically going to end up buried. Ex: http://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/viewthread.php?threadid=1099
Bumps will be scorned at and any players who will say hi once would never come back.

It's worth a shot, but yeah, not going to be like Florida.

However, I do know a few players within the DDR/ITG community that do reside in PA, like Zetorux, Devon (went to school with him), DJ OMiY, etc.

I also made a tri-state area thread a few weeks ago that only was active for a short time (http://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/viewthread.php?postid=310922#p310922).

Not saying this can't work but it might be tough.

That being said I play ITG in PA so technically this thread is relevant to my interests.

Relevant content (since the ITG accomplishments thread is dead):

Also, Ryan, we still need to have that match. =P

Thanks to Lord Toon for the wonderful sig image!

If you'd like a review on a contest chart, PM me! (Reviews will probably be given on or around the Friday after the PM fyi.)

Match? I don't remember a ma-- oh, that.

Unfortunately, I haven't been playing dance games as much as I should, lately, so my skills will be quite the rust.

Pennsylvania player here! Or rather, former forcibly, since the arcade I used to go to (Confetti Arcade) made their closest location unmanned and moved the machine to Berkshire mall, the computer I used to play on went kaput, and the Windows 8 I use right now doesn't support Ignition 3.0 dance pads. (If anyone knows a workaround for that, please let me know!)

This, but at least you're Pennsylvania. I'm Arkansas.

In order to get any kind of action I'd need to take cruise down I-30 for a good six hours in TEKHAS.

"Don't get depressed!"
Let's not pretend the Florida thread is a hotbed of activity. The only reason it's up now is because Max posted about the tournament this weekend. Otherwise it's just Bemani Dog posting his latest achievements and updates about the machine conditions at the local arcades.

Don't get me wrong, it's something, but if you want any real interaction around here, you're better off posting in the Florida rhythm game group on facebook, and even then it can be pretty quiet. Do you guys not have any kind of PA rhythm game group on facebook?

also, @Hiryuu: Sad that's terrible. I really try not to take for granted how fortunate we are to have so many machines around, even if most of them are not maintained as well as they should be.

Well what's worse is I spend my Junior High and High School days up north in Illinois back when DDR was huge and everyone knew what an EXTREME machine was. I was a Sunday drive from Chicago and Naperville.

Then I moved down here in '06 and it was a culture shock.

Harrisburg has an arcade that's lively with the ITG community, and it's also the host of the annual DOWNS tourney hosted by Zetorux. It's an hour away from me, but I didn't get a chance to go there yet.

I haven't been near Harrisburg since I was a kid and visiting an aunt I haven't seen in forever. Went north of that to Loyalsock. Haven't been back since I was 6.

Haven't posted in this forum for forever, then I saw this thread. Tongue

Yup, I'm from Pennsylvania! Apparently, Pocket Change over down at the Park City Mall in Lancaster is actually not that bad. I frequent there every week or so playing In the Groove 2 when I get the chance.

Also, there's a DDR SuperNOVA cabinet there, though I question how much is unlocked in the machine at the moment. My eyes have been focused on ITG2 lately, so I never bothered.

I really don't come across any DDR players while I'm there, though. Certainly, there needs to be more community awareness of any music game enthusiasts in this area, but that can be something worth of discussion~

I've dealt with the ignition issue to, it seems to be 8.1 specific or related to newer drivers - I was able to use mine with no issue until I upgraded. If I figure out anything I'll let you know, though the google consensus seems to be to use linux.

@xRGTMx - I'm horribly inconsistent so if I'm having a bad day you could probably win without doing much. Also your MA is better than mine, rust or not. That being said, I look forward to the day.

@Hiryuu - Sorry to hear it. I've had multi-year breaks too, maybe your situation will get better. Sorry I can't offer anything more helpful.

Ehh, like I said before, I've gotten rusty at dance games, so at this point, we're pretty much even.

It's Arkansas...unless they give up guns, ammo, booze, NASCAR, Hogs and the Bible overnight I doubt it's going to change anytime soon. It's a culture difference in the Bible Belt.

Like seriously, I know my options but most of them are North, East, West and Dennis for several hours.

it's about time that a thread like this got started. Many thanks xRGTMx.

I'm from the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. The closest DDR arcade machine for me was at Viewmont Mall in Dickson City (a good 1 1/2hr drive), but the last time I visited (back in halloween) the arcade in the mall got rid of their Extreme machine. The next closest, if they still have their machine, is at Steamtown Mall.

Oddly enough only a local Bowling Center has a Guitar Hero arcade machine.

Well other than that, that is it. I myself is running 4 SMs (3.9 (all DDR US CS), 3.9+Redux (all DDR JPN AC), SM-SSC/SM5 (same as 3.9, but still working on organizing the song wheel) and beware's Extreme (3.9))

Important bump.

Good news everyone. There is a arcade store/shop that has opened up in Mt. Pocono.

https://www.facebook.com/hhgameroom

So if there is anyone living with-in or around Monroe County please go and check it out and maybe help support this place. Also to help convince the owner to get a DDR machine.

New arcade called Kowabunga's just opened in Sunbury. I moved here from Williamsport. It has about 35 or so arcade games, no DDR or ITG. It uses tokens, has carnival style food and a party area. Just opened less than a week ago.
