The Remix Game [Round 1] ~ Traces

Objective: The objective of The Remix Game is simple: define the superior song between an original cut versus a select remix. Every 2 weeks a new song and remix will face-off over the following categories:

Song - Which song is more enjoyable to listen to

Chart - Which song is more enjoyable to play (Any official chart)

Impact - In comparison to the other songs in the premiered game, which had a stronger impact

Prestige - Which song is remembered more


Rules

1) You may only vote 1 (one) time within a 24 hour (normal human day) period

2) You can only elect 1(one) category each time you vote

3) You may not cast a vote for a category that you've already voted for

4) Reasoning is not required but, for the sake of amusement, highly encouraged


The results will be tallied daily and refreshed on this top post so as to avoid clutter and peer pressure in people's choices (i.e. do not put the running tabs in your post). After 2 weeks the polling will close and we shall see who comes out on top in each of the categories!

Also, feel free to suggest what the next song and remix will be! The only stipulation is that the song and its remix must be official songs from music games so that the face-off will match the style above.

I'll bite (side question: why can't I vote in each category at once?)

Song: traces -tracing you mix-
traces original is, aside from being more conventionally trance and less big beat, standard, interchangeable TaQ. I don't think traces does a good job of reflecting TaQ's sense of song dynamics. I love 2 step, so I guess I'm already biased toward -tracing you mix-, but it does have more interesting features to connect with (vocals, synth solo).

Prestige - traces

In all honesty I don't think many people remember the kors k remix of traces and in the grand scheme of things TaQ had far fewer songs in the bemani catalogue when he left so traces, like all of his music, stands out prominently. Kors K on the other hand has just so much music that perhaps his remix doesn't shine as bright.

@Telp: For the sake of being a game I figured adding a mechanic to get people to come back each day would increase player count by getting it in the latest post more often. Also, by only allowing one category per vote it decreases the size of a post making it a tad more appealing to play along rather than off-putting people who don't want to write a huge vote post (assuming they write reasoning). And finally I know that not everyone will have an opinion about each category (my guess would be the chart and impact categories) so I didn't want to pressure people out of voting if they didn't know everything about the two songs. But I'm totally up for suggestions if this is going to be a thing.

Song: traces

I love playing it mostly because of the song itself.
It's as close as I can get to the third outphase song. Very cool stuff.

The kors k version just seems...so off to me. Not his best.

Impact: Traces

7th style suuuuucccckkkkeeed and anything that wasn't eurobeat really stood out. For tracing you in 9th there was tons and tons of great music so again, like with my prestige vote before, it just didn't stand out as much.
