It's starting to warm up outside, and that means Spring and Summer is on the way. If Summer is on the way that means so is the 2014 Summer Contest. However we can't forget about the prelude to SC2014. Tournament of Immortals is back for it's 4th year!

What's new this year?

This time, there will be TWO brackets. One for singles charts, and one for doubles charts!. This is so we can get more interest from people who would rather and/or only do double charts exclusively. Now you have double the chance to win!

What is the Tournament of Immortals
Tournament of Immortals is a simfile making single elimination tournament. The first round will be the qualifier round in where everyone will submit one file. From there you will get a seed based on how many points your simfile gets via votes. The top 16 will advance unto tournament play (unless we can get 24 or 32 members in this) From there we will have 1V1 match ups each week to see who will advance to the next round. This will go on until there's only one left standing. The winner of the singles bracket and the winner of the doubles bracket will get to host the 2014 Summer Contest! (such as picking themes for the week and so on.)


RULES.

1. You can NOT vote for your own song
2. ALL SONGS WILL BE PAD CHARTS. They can be DDR or ITG style.
3. Autogen steps of ANY sort will NOT be allowed.
4. 1 song per user a week. SO MAKE IT COUNT!
5. NEW! You can enter in both Singles and Doubles brackets.
6. Banners and Backgrounds are not required, but they are suggested. Other members can help you out with these.
7. When submitting your simfile It needs to have the round of the song with it EXAMPLE: [Round 1 Singles] - New Decade or [Qualifier Doubles] - m1dy Deluxe (Yes this includes the -). This is so everything is organized and easy to get to.
8. NEW! You CAN submit the same song to both brackets but only submit the file once. If you do this, make sure your file is named as so. [Qualifier Singles & Doubles] - Fractal. (Please use & and not "and", so everything is organized.
9. You CAN have (X2,X3 style) or classic banners.
10. All songs must be under 2:30.
11. All songs must be under the old 1-10 DDR and/or ITG's 1-13 Rating system.
12. In case on a tie, the tie will depend on how many votes the user made. (Example: if Member A voted and Member B did not, Member A will win the tie breaker) This will encourage people to vote.
13. Any trolling or constant violation of the rules will result in disqualification for the tournament and all files submitted by the member will be deleted.
14. If you have to drop out from the tournament, you will automatically be DQ'd from the round you are in. This is so we don't have members leaving and coming back.
15. This tournament will be Single Elimination. You can not upload a file if you are knocked out. HOWEVER you can still vote for songs.
16. Simfiles must be made for this contest, you can not recycle an old simfile you have done.
17. If there's still a tie even after users of both simfiles voted, #1 rank of qualifier gets the say over ties. If songs that are tied are not voted on the 5 songs the #1 rank user voted for, then it goes to who's ranked #2 and so on. This is for qualifier round only.


VOTING.

Voting will be SC rules but just for the qualifier round. You pick your top 5 simfiles and that file will get points.

1st: 5pts
2nd: 4pts
3rd: 3pts
4th: 2pts
5th: 1pts

Once we start on 1V1 tournament play, members will just vote for the simfile they liked more in the match up.


This sounds hype! How do I join?
Just post here that you want in and specifically say if you want in the singles bracket, doubles bracket, or both. I will have two lists on the bottom of the post saying who's in what bracket. Sign ups begin now until the end of qualifier week.

Dates are set up for round of 16. I will edit if we end up getting above 24 or 32 members.

March 3rd-March 10th: Qualifier round for both brackets
March 10th-17th: Qualifier Voting for both brackets
March 17th-24th: Round of 32.
March 24th-31st: Round of 32 voting
March 31st-April 14th Round of 16 / Round of 12 doubles
April 14th-21: Voting of round of 16 / Round of 12 doubles
April 21st-28th: Round of 8 / Round of 8 doubles
April 28-May 5th: Round of 8 voting / Round of 8 doubles
May 5th-May 9th Round of 4 / Round of 4 doubles
May 9th-May 14th: Round of 4 voting / round of 4 doubles
May 14th-May 19th: FINALS / Finals doubles
May 19th-May 24th: Voting for finals / Finals doubles voting

Time of deadline is Mondays, 5pm UTC (1pm EST)
