Here are two more 5th Mix Data Bank charts that I think could go here:
SKY HIGH (LUCYFER) (Block 8, 2nd Stepchart)
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0dNp0dHXPw
Macho Gang (Block 7, only stepchart present)
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v31EM1-n08
Someone's probably gonna reply to this post, and whoever that person is will probably criticize the SKY HIGH chart. So, here's my opinion as to why that chart should be in this thread:
That song has potential to be a 10-footer on the old scale. That chart is indeed a 10-footer on the old scale, and it's done in the right way for that particular song.

that sky high chart is NOT a good chart in the slightest
primary factor of it being awful is because of the forced 16th streams, + jacks are complete nonsense, plus random 12th notes all over the place
it could be made into a really nice challenge chart, but that one is something i'd more or less likely find on ITG

anyways back on topic
LIVING IN AMERICA D-
holy hell this chart is SO much fun to play. it's definitely not an 8, due to really awkward pad transitions
regardless I play this song nearly every time I go to the arcade, it's fast paced, difficult and it's an awesome song

Those 16th streams make no sense, there is way too much jump spam (including a 16th stream made up entirely of jumps) and the giant 16th stream during the chorus pays absolutely no attention to foot placement at all. Maybe it's fun to play on the keyboard if you're into that sort of thing, but playing it on foot would be downright uncomfortable.

no that chart is shit. the 16th streams in the middle go to nothing and there's no flow and a lot of doublesteps. i'm pretty sure people will agree that is not good. it doesn't belong here. also what the fuck is with that jump jacks? trying to beat DEAD END ("GROOVE RADAR" Special)?
edit: whoops pie already posted above me. oh well, i'll just go on and state that your opinions on "the best DDR stepcharts" really sucks man. please reconsider before posting another 5thMIX data bank chart.

That Sky High chart is horrible. It uses way too many jacks, and step-jumps, plus the difficulty is very spread out.
On topic: Theory of Eternity is one of my favorite also. I think the pattern is extremely fun. The jumps especially

*clears throat* Allow me to peel open an onion here.Video:
That chart... It is utterly atrocious. The steps go to practically nothing, the patterning is absolutely abysmal, the balance is incredibly off throughout the entire song, the flow is virtually non-existent, there's more doublesteps than there ever should be in a song, the steps don't work at all with a song like this, etc...
Needless to say, this chart does not belong in this thread, plain and simple.

Hahaha, oh man.
I like most of the charts from UNIVERSE 3. They're really fun. However, I think the charts for some songs are unneeded. In my opinion, the charts in that mix are really well thought-out and not awkward to play. I also like the charts for DDR X, even the easy songs weren't boring (in my opinion).
I'm talking about Single only, since I only play Single.

I might be alone on this one, but I really like Oarfish . Dirty Digital and I'm so Happy are some of my favorites too
I didn't like oarfish at first, but once I "got" the freezes, I thought the chart was pretty cool. Post #69 · Posted at 2014-05-05 04:14:36am 9.9 years ago

It was a potential 10 before there were 10s? That's a strange reason for a chart to be considered good.

JET WORLD . Probably one of my all time favorite charts. Well, it's at least one of the most memorable charts I've played. Nice flow, works very well with the tune at hand, and is just all around good fun to stomp around on.
The Island Song . Nicely crafted chart to a nicely crafted tune, and I'm not just saying that because I have a major bias towards the song. >>
AFRONOVA . An absolute classic; what more can I say?
MAXIMIZER [Edit Chart - EXTREME US: Mission 100]. A wonderfully executed reward for such a devilishly difficult Mission Mode.

Surprisingly, I really like Caramelldansen's chart, though I hoped the streams were a lot longer. I actually expected the chart to be your typical, noobish 8 or 9-rated chart. Tried it once I learned it was an 11 and DDR2013 was available nearby.

One of my favorite charts is Wild Rush PCM Mix (song name of Wild Rush From Nonstop Megamix). It got a full set of charts in one of the Ultramix games, and came out surprisingly awesome!

I just want to quickly chime in on the whole SKY HIGH debate and go with the minority here.
[opinion]The only parts I didn't like are the super long 16th stream and the 16th jump jacks. Other than that, the rest of the steps are completely appropriate for the song; if you can do all the turns, crossovers, and "jacks" correctly, then there's really no broken flow at all with minimal double-stepping. I can visualize in my head a pretty cool dance to this song with (part of) this chart. It may not the best chart, but it's certainly not the worst chart either.[/opinion]
Since I'm here, I might as well share another chart that I really like:

Looking at it again, you're right. It's really more unnecessary than terrible.[opinion]The only parts I didn't like are the super long 16th stream and the 16th jump jacks. In addition to these links, I wanna take a moment to honour another superb chart from the 5th Mix Data Bank. This one belongs to the song Holic. If you own 5th Mix CS, you can find this chart in Block 2, and it is the first chart there.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEj8rNtkYOQ
This is one of the worst charts I have ever seen. The steps go to nothing. It's up there with A Geisha's Dream (Ruffage Remix) from DDR 2010. Are you sure you're posting in the right thread? This is Best DDR Stepcharts. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEj8rNtkYOQ
This chart made me laugh sooo hard
Anyways,
I'm a big fan of home version charts.
