I can't really think of any really embarrassing DDR moments...
Maybe when I played at the arcade during one of the few times I've gone and played something like Xepher Challenge and people were watching me, like little kids and their parents (not many, but there were a few). It's a little embarrassing for me to know that so many people were watching me in awe.

I agree. I don't like when a crowd of people gathers to watch (sometimes they even applaud Confused) and they're amazed, even though I know I'm not that great compared to most players.

For me, most embarrassing is probably just failing a song in front of people that are better than me.

Embarrasing is dying on stage 1 in front of people, but only you know you lost because the pad was 1/10.

"noise."
I accidentally selected random while entering a series folder on DDR X3. This is not what I want. And the random selection picked GORGEOUS 2012... so I really hate it.

For me, the most embarrassing moment was when I was playing doubles in front of a crowd of people a few years back, and my pants+boxers slipped down a little TOO far because I forgot to put on a belt that day. Thankfully the song was a crowd generator, so their eyes were fixated on the screen as opposed to my nether regions Dead

Mine was me playing Dynamite Rave Air Special together with my buddy and he caught me farting in mid-song during jumps.

I've never had anything too embarrassing. Just relatively dumb things like burping really loudly in the middle of a song, or almost falling off the stage if I mistime a jump or something.

So, because I am clearly full of great ideas at 3 in the morning, me and...I wanna say 7 other people were playing DDR at my friend Daniel's house (I think 4 guys, 3 girls) while drinking and doing other good legal stuff that clearly goes well with alcohol. At some point I came up with the genius idea of playing in just my underwear (because how else would you even play rhythm games, with a shirt? Get out.), and started playing R3 on Expert while doing the freestyle as best I could under the circumstances. I was balling out of control and actually doing well until it was time for the bar jump, where I managed to clear the bar, but lose my underwear in the process, but I was too drunk to notice at the time and just kept going while everyone else was freaking out and laughing up a storm. After the song was over, I did a pelvic thrust at them cause I was happy I passed, and then my pal Eric was like "Bro, the juice is loose", and it took me a second before I realized what he meant by it, but by then it was too late and I was like "SHIT" as everyone kept laughing and just rolling on the floor (the floor rolling was probably cause they were drunk), and to this day they still don't let me live it down.

tl;dr don't freestyle dance in loose underwear

Nothing can beat KNS-17.

But I remember going to a PA tournament and tried to freestyle it because I didn't even fucking know what was going on.

And then I tried to do this Electro Tuned routine at AX and it was the most awkward piece of crap I've ever done.

That reminds me of when I tried to do an awkward freestyle routine for Jet World Light and it was basically just me doing the spins correctly and randomly spurting my arms in various directions

Probably being about 12 or so...

I played DDR Extreme, the first time I picked "Gamelan de Couple." I failed because I fell over laughing my head off from the dancing cactus background animations.

Kind of reminds me of when I tried playing JANEJANA on an Extreme a while back and almost quit after seeing the fucking bears in the background.
The place I was playing in happened to be a laser tag/skating rink with a lot of teens hanging out around there, so of course I was embarrassed.

That's embarassing? That's something I would do to annoy my friends lmfao

Over-jumping on DOUBLEs, so I jumped off the platform.

similar to this, moved too fast and overshot and fell off the platform when I was playing Pluto Relinquish

on BASIC.

Mind you, that was a long time ago heh

Similar also happened to me when that time I play DDR extreme. The song I played on that time was I feel...

Although there are no complicated jumps here but I was overstepped in accident and I slipped away out off the pad and dropped on the floor hardly.

Additionally, when the time I play Witch Doctor expert single and my pants are on the loose during I play on that time.

The following happened to me on an ITG (not DDR, but close enough) machine in July 2013 in an arcade in The Orleans Casino in Las Vegas.

I was trying to find a song to pick, but I didn't know which one to choose. Because there were too many custom songs hacked onto the machine, but not enough time to choose, I ended up picking a simfile for "Shoes" (that song from YouTube), and at that moment, I forgot there was cursing in the song. Mind you, it was about 3-4 PM, and there were lots of kids, children, and parents around the arcade at that time. As soon as I got to the part where the singer starts repeatedly shouting, "F*** YOU!" (the machine volume was turned all the way up too), I simply just walked off the pad & quit the song, looking around to see if any unworthy ears noticed.

The last thing I needed was to be scolded by a parent for playing a song on ITG with lots of cursing in it -- not my fault there were too many simfiles, with the menu timer still turned on.

Another mishap was at a Halloween Party at Sportime USA (my primary arcade) in Elmsford NY back in 2009. I wore a Transformers Costume to the party, and eventually decided to play ITG. I played Twilight on Expert 10 (which was hard enough for me at that time; even harder in a Halloween costume), and fell off the pad attempting to do the triple jumps (with both feet & one hand) towards the end. I quickly got back on the pad and finished it; surprisingly enough, I didn't fail...

I recall being in high school and playing at the local movie theater. I was playing DDR Extreme and the song was Rhythm and Police....a song I constantly 'AA'd no-bar. But this time, a crowd developed behind me and I didn't know...and as the many sections of crossovers were coming, I don't know what happened but I just slipped during a crossover and my right foot slipped behind me and right off the pad haha. I missed a couple notes but jumped right back on and finished the song.

Something that has always embarrassed me though is when a crowd forms and people will clap after I finish a song. I always think, "I'm not doing anything special, I'm not even actually dancing! It's just a game!"

Then there's the usual moments of picking a song and not realizing I didn't choose Expert/Maniac/etc difficulty and the song starts and something feels off...because I'm on Beginner mode. Or not knowing what song I want to choose and as the timer runs out, I land on one of the worst songs I could ever hope to play. Or choosing a harder/faster song and not remembering to lower my speed modifier beforehand...that just happened to me a couple nights ago. Played My Summer Love and had the speed modifier set to 3x, went in to play Paranoia Respect after that and totally forgot to bring it down to 1.5x speed. Failed.
If it ain't no natural law, then you can keep your regulations. 'Cause if I like it, I do it.

"five minute white boy challenge"
I lost a shoe that hit some guy in the back of the knee while jumping in Healing-D-Vision.

I've also had those moments where you know you're going to fail a song and you just can't be bothered to keep going. Turn around to talk to a friend, there's about fifteen people stood there looking at me.

Approximately nobody asked for this song to be included. Least popular decision by the Japanese since Nintendo released the Wii U.
