"Capcom eating my store credits"
Alright... I just wanna ask.

Recently I have been playing ITG3 in a nearby arcade (Galactic Circus, Melbourne). The ITG3 uses DDR X3 cab and i think it uses SM3.9 to actually run the ITG3.

My question is that is it possible for me to add more songs into the machine? If it is possible, how can I do that?

Thank you in advance.

Does the machine have USB slots on it?

Alright when you put in a USB, it should make a folder that says "In The Groove 2" or "In The Groove 3". In that folder is another folder that says "songs". That's where you put in your custom songs. Keep in mind that for songs to work, you need to have just the .sm file, and the song file needs to be in ogg. If it's an OITG ITG3 (If it's running ITG 3 it's likely OITG) then mp3s might work. However if the song is over 2:00 or over 5MBs, it will not show up on the song wheel or it will show up and it will say "the song file exceeds 2:00" or "Song file is over 5mb" and you can't pick it. If you look around the internet, there's an ogg patch that when used can break the 2:00 limit rule, I'd send you the link where I got mine but it's no longer up. Confused Also keep in mind that 50 songs is the limit but depending on settings of the machine, all 50 songs will likely not load. 20-30 is around the max it loads for me.

If it's using SM3.9 to run then it will likely not work. I just don't know any ITG3 3.9 themes. Could be running SM5.

it's most likely running 3.95

create a standard file structure for ITG2 (the fact that it's using an ITG3 theme does not matter), make sure it's all done correctly, and try as many USB drives as you can. ITG cabs are very, very picky about the USB's it accepts.

Are you asking how to play songs off a usb or actually adding them to the machine itself? I'm kinda assuming you mean the latter in the OP but I could be wrong.

Also yeah it's definitely not running 3.9 unless someone made an itg3 theme for that version without my knowledge (which I seriously doubt), probably 3.95 or oITG.

by adding to the machine itself I mean actually adding them to where you can play them without putting them on a usb (including like banners and gfx and whatever else the simfile may have, something usb access won't give you)

guide here can help with putting stuff on. One thing before anything else, make sure you actually have permission to do this. Don't try doing this behind the arcade management's back; believe me the risk is really not worth it, especially if you have very little experience doing this.
