REFLEC BEAT. (period)
Only one song, and that's MAX. (period). Unlock system consists of playing MAX. (period) in MAX mode, which unlocks MAX. (period) for regular mode. Just a plethora of MAX. (period).
It'll sell millions.

"Why do you need KONAMI original games?"

OT:
REFLEC BEAT vibrant

First REFLEC BEAT to be released in Europe first. Contains various songs which have never crossed over from their respective franchises. Must contain Spooky (which I consider the most horrifically neglected song IIDX has ever had when it comes to further appearances). Unlocks come from playcount and completing various achievements (total JUST REFLEC performed, total TOP notes hit, total AAA ranks, etc.)

A Reflec Beat game with DJMax songs does sound rather promising (if unlikely), but I'm not entirely sure you should make one that is literally just DJMax Technica 4...

Let's just imagine if finally we were to get an American version at the very least location tested:

REFLEC BEAT is now being tested for American markets much like uBeat and Jukebeat were several years back. This time however, KONAMI seems more aware of their audience and have made some interesting changes to the game:

-Reskinned interface: Though it is based on groovin's engine, the game now has a look that players have described as ravey, though several quickly appended that it looked much more interesting than RE-RAVE. Nowhere to be seen is Pastel-kun or for that matter any of his companions

-Beginner mode: As a default when you get to the song select, the first songs you see are in Beginner difficulty, which appears to only use the lane and has charts rated level 1 only. All of the new songs and a handful of Konami Originals have received these charts.

-Machine profile: Since eAmuse still isn't viable, KONAMI will instead have an unlocking system that, while using the Refle shop and courses, will be shared across all players of the machine. As such, the individual costs of items have risen, and there are more older songs that need to be unlocked before getting to the new stuff so that American players don't get to unlocks before their Japanese counterparts.

-Various Notes:
--They seemed to be touting 4 songs in particular, all popular in America this year: Animals, Love Runs Out, Latch, and Love Never Felt So Good. Some are reporting there may be a release to the + game called "MODERN DANCE PACK 01" when the game launches in arcades.
--Responses to the new charts from REFLEC BEAT veterans has been positive so far. No songs have seemed overrated or have blank segments, fake difficulty, or anything bad like that. One report is that the Japanese team wrote the charts.
--Rumor is that the game is slated for a late 2014 release and that the new songs that we know are going to be the only new things considering how many contemporary hits there are already.
--ICE ICE BABY's Hard chart has been stated by some to be reminiscent of the chart for STRONG in colette -winter-.

It's not a want; it's a prediction. With their recent releases (Dance Wars, Classroom Edition), KONAMI has been cultivating their previous artists relationships more than explore new ones. Justin Bieber had 2 songs in DDR II, so it isn't hard to see them use one of his songs again for a music game.

I'd predict that if they used a Bieber song, it'd be Boyfriend or Beauty and a Beat. Those just seem to be the more popular Bieber songs from the past ~2 yrs. Well... the only popular ones, at least that I've heard.

EDIT: I feel like they'd also have a Lady Gaga song. Maybe. They had one in DDR X2 and then another in DDR PS3 so maybe they'd release one here. Perhaps Applause.

Well, I specifically avoided the top 10 hits of the past few years (what you mentioned, As Long as You Love Me, whatever songs from that Journal album) because KONAMI seems to have proven that its range of being able to pick up top 10 hits has only gotten farther away as time has passed (i.e. Derulo in 2013 using only one song from the second album, Calvin Harris not having Feel So Close, Miley Cyrus somehow becoming less timely in the DW pack as opposed to the older Jukebeat pack) All Around the World hit #22 and stuck around for a comfortable period of the late winter of 2013, so it seemed viable enough to be able to be picked up while still being recognizable.

Actually, the implication from my post is that they wouldn't make new originals for the game and all the old originals (not removed in groovin' obviously) would be part of the Refle store unlock system. I mean, if they didn't even do new originals for REFLEC BEAT + when Jukebeat (iOs) got the luxury, I seriously doubt they'd committ new originals and crossovers to the game. Yes, there'd be unlocks we currently don't know about in reality, but they'd be groovin' unlocks, which we'd unlock slowly per machine after going through essentially all currently available pre-groovin' originals in those tiered rounds.

Anyway, I also added a few more licenses to the tracklist, because I think they'd aim for 20 total. Here is my rationale for each:

G.U.Y. / Lady Gaga - Gaga has appeared in Jukebeat, DDR 2009, and DDR 2010. This would be the fan track, ones that her "little monsters" would eat up but likely wouldn't break the bank in licensing (it only managed one week on the Hot 100 at #75 and hasn't made it to mainstream yet)

Right There / Ariana Grande feat. Big Sean - One of the biggest trends that recent DDRs gave us was a more teen-oriented atmostphere. DDR II brought us songs from Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, and Willow Smith, while DDR Dance Wars brought classic Miley and a main character rather similar to certain somebody. Since Ariana is the new hot teen idol, it's likely KONAMI would try to obtain one of her songs. However, all of her recent songs have been uber hits, so they'd likely go with Right There, reminiscent of The Way and with some more star power, but not nearly as much recognition as it would have gotten had it been before The Way as a single.

Red Lights / Tiesto - Tiesto was in DDR Freedom (I think?) and is part of the current crop of electro artists breaking the mainstream. As this was a European hit, it accommodates for a possible worldwide release of the series, and it was recognizable in the US but not a big hit, making it safe to license for the American market for the time being.

This just makes me think all the more that a REFLECBEAT game would possibly include something by 5SOS or 1D. BEMANI hasn't gotten much boy band love (which I won't complain about, to be honest) but when The Ready Set was included in DDR II (even though it's not a boy band, but still...), it made me think about all the "tween" music we were missing, and boy bands were a huge part of that. No Jonas Brothers, 1D, 5SOS, Has there ever been a boy band in any bemani game, actually? We've had Spice Girls in some DDR games and TLC in jukebeat(?) so maybe it's time for the boy bands to step up.

I'm not implying anything. Like DDR Addict, it's merely a prediction, particularly from Konami's point of view. It would be smart business-wise.

From a business standpoint, if Konami ever plans on trying to bring REFLEC BEAT over to our arcades (which is highly unlikely to ever happen, but bear with me here) and wants to attract a public crowd, they'd be stupid to not try and grab some popular acts. The popular acts, whether you like them or not, are a draw for the company. And if you don't dig those song choices, you could always just not play them.

REFLEC BEAT tune museum

It contains every single music track that ever appeared in any official RB game, including some new tracks.
The unlocking system is called Note Brush.
After a track is played, you will get a certain amount of Ink/Notes.
Ink is used to paint music track jackets, frames, object explosions and backgrounds, while notes are used to unlock tracks and object shot sounds.
To unlock a new music track, you must first paint its jacket with the ink you obtain from playing, then you need to unlock the track itself using notes.

New Music Tracks
Hit the Road Jack / Ray Charles - 2/5/7
Boat on the Road / Thomas Mogensen - 4/6/8
The Terminal / Shadow6Nothing9 - 1/2/3
Party Time / Rapping Dog - 2/4/6 (Note: Only unlockable during the April Fools Day Campaign)
