I think I'll just focus on get Z[i] for now, then I'll think about Hesperides. I'm not that desperate about it anyway.

Regarding the past event. I just couldn't get that full combo on サバイバル. That chorus' notes are a real pain DX

Just did the Unlock Challenge for Nu Heat [Master], and dear Lord Helix, it is AWFUL. It's like the chart was created by one of those automatic Stepmania step chart generators, and not one of the better ones.

I would not be surprised if this song gets to be chosen in an upcoming event. Geez, even in my STANDARD ULC fails to get the complete jacket.

If that song is chosen for a score-grinding event, I am NOT playing it even if it's the fastest one to grind for event points. Nyan Cat [Infinite] in Sound Voltex would be more fun to grind than that. More ear-pleasing too.

Anyone else having weird stuff happen lately?
Designed World MASTER just spontaneously unlocked before I unlocked it fully, and now my Touch of Gold image has disappeared to be replaced by just a black square...

.... oh it's back to normal now, Designed World is still unlocked though

Hmmm, don't really see what the problem is with Nu Heat.. I just tried the MASTER chart for the first time and cleared it with an 'S'. *shrug*

The problem I see with it is not that the chart is hard to read or play, but that it alternates between sections that are incredibly bland and sections which don't make much sense rhythmically much like an auto-generated Stepmania chart. The latter forces you to memorize them to get Super/Flawless instead of Cool judgments. (The grade calculation is based purely on how many Cool or higher judgments you get, but the clear rate % differentiates between a Cool and a Super, and I personally like going for 99% and 100% clear rates.)

It also doesn't help that the music is extremely repetitive and dull. I'd barely even call it music. Again, I'd rather listen to Nyan Cat.

Well it can't hold a candle to how terrible the charts for Break Down are.

Nu Heat is technically STILL music. The song still has melodies, unlike brutal/death/grindcore. Plus, the song is actually good for making YTPMVs, due to the stuttering vocals & silly style of the track.

Oh, and one more thing I've got to ask to ashura, why are Break Down's charts bad? I understand Nu Heat, but not break down due to your lack of explanation.

Thanks for the explanation Poochy, I pretty much agree with you now although I think the rhythm patterns do make sense but are hard to figure out. I also don't see any problems with Break Down's charts though - once you get used to what the rhythm actually is, they're fine IMO.

^^ Technically, anything that's organized in a rhythm is music, by the dictionary definition. So even an impatient driver honking his horn is technically music if they do it rhythmically. But as for music as an art form, I find Nu Heat incredibly lacking in that sense. It sounds more like a poor imitation of those YouTube mashups of the Slap Chop commercial than an earnest attempt at composing music.

Personally I'm not a fan of Break Down's charts either, but I don't actively dislike them; I think they're just rather mediocre. There's a section about 30 seconds before the end of the Master chart that requires some memorization, but the rhythm actually makes sense and goes with the song, and the easier sections aren't too boring. The part you have to memorize is merely where the double taps are.

Nu Heat, on the other hand, has several sections that vary slightly, like having one note be a 16th note earlier or later than in the previous repetition for seemingly no reason (which is also a common characteristic of bad Stepmania charts). You have to memorize ALL of them in sequence to avoid Cools.

On another note, this guy says he spent about 21300 tickets on Random Select Festivals and got 13 new songs, putting the drop rate around 0.3%.

New event has been announced. This time it's a 1v1 grind for total score. 3 sections total, each against a random opponent.

The first new song reward is 現実幻覚スピードスター, with 3 possible ways to unlock it:
1. Win all 3 sections and you get it with all 3 charts unlocked immediately after the event
2. Else, a total score of 5 million gets you the song with no charts unlocked.
3. Failing both previous criteria, 2 wins gets you the song 2 weeks later, also with no charts unlocked.

The second reward song is オーバーラップ, awarded for a total score of 500K or more.

Top 1000 total scores and every 100th place down to 2000th get the Club Mix skin.
