I'm stuck at the part where it requires a password. I put in one but it keeps bringing me back to the 'Enter Password' window. Not sure if I have to add in a special character/symbol or what? :/

But other than that this game so far is pretty good. Just wish I could get past that window so that I can enjoy the game fully.

CROSS x BEATS has a cool interface, and I must say that songs can definitely get very challenging! The default songlist/what I've unlocked thus far is pretty decent. The game uses a 'ticket' system and requires the use of these tickets to play songs....of course this move seems heavily influenced by the Koreans (DJMAX). The unlock system seems nice, but still, it's all ONLINE ONLY aka bummer. You can't play the game without a constant internet connection and you need to use tickets just to play songs (whether you want to replay the same song by quitting midway or not).

Seems hardcore enough, but it's definitely FREEMIUM.

Are you allowed to buy the songs outright so you can skip the tickets stuff?

Long time no see buddy, and I still haven't forgotten about our 'deal'. =)
I tried the app a couple of hours ago and I don't remember seeing that you can buy songs directly...instead, you gotta gain these 'sp' points (I think it's something to do with 'Friends' points) to unlock songs...but I'm sure that the store can offer some of these special points for a nifty price. I saw a new Tatsh song as one of the last unlockable songs at the bottom of that screen...for like 150000 points or something like that.

This game seems to focus heavily on it's 'system'...including the unlock system. Premium tickets....hmmm, I wonder if they can be bargained with or traded in for those sp/friend points because Premium tickets (costs real money) can be used once you run out of regular tickets outside of the Daily Events/Giveaways.

Hmm... do all songs require tickets or is it a few that require tickets?

I feel the freemium aspect of the game will ruin the game if there's no option to buy the songs; because who wants to keep buying premium tickets to play the songs?

Although I won't be surprised if this is the case, as the game is being pushed by Capcom after all ...

Edit: All songs require seem to require five tickets. Once you've used up all your normal tickets, it will start to take from your premium tickets. There are various "missions" that will reward you with premium tickets, songs or skins when you complete them so it's not that bad. It does look like you can't buy the songs outright.

If it doesn't allow you to own the songs permanently then this game is a pass for me.

Yeah it doesn't look like it unfortunately.

The normal tickets recharge at a rate of 1 per 30 minutes up to a maximum of 10 tickets. (2 plays)

So assuming you cannot obtain any more premium tickets, you get to play a song every 2½ hours.

Edit: The pricing for premium tickets is six Crossbits (Cb) for one premium ticket. A Crossbit costs exactly 1 yen.

5 tickets at 6 Cb each means it costs 30 Cb per play. One play therefore costs 30 yen.

So when does the arcade version come out? Cause some players are already paying to play like it is AC.

I think it would have worked better the way DanceWars did it: have unlocked songs available without using tickets in a "FREE" mode with an "Arcade" (or whatever) mode that unlocked songs but required tickets to play. Then have DLC packs with new songs.

At the very least, it would be nice to be able to buy an upgrade that would raise the ceiling on the maximum number of normal tickets you can have at a time, or an upgrade that lets them charge faster. I'd actually be willing to spend money on that, but I will find it annoying to have to keep buying things over and over again, especially considering it's more annoying for those of us outside of Japan who want to play.

I bought myself an iPad as a Christmas gift to myself and will be getting it on Wednesday, so I'll download and play it so I can give my full impressions on it. I've watched a few videos on YouTube and I have to say that the songlist so far seems really solid. The game also seems fun, but perhaps not totally innovative.
