You know, fan games in this grey legal area don't necessarily want mainstream attention. Even if a company purposefully turns a blind eye to fan projects, if they start getting that sort of press, they have to take action.
I saw that article already, and most of those aren't exceptionally new but they are cool.
(Besides, a StepMania fan project doesn't seem all that impressive compared to something that took months or years of coding)
