Cytus (Android/iOS) (International)

I don't understand how a board like this doesn't exist here, considering the high praise I've seen on both Google Play and iTunes. I found out about this game just today...and already I love it.

I hope to see that there are others out there that at least share the interest in this game that I do. I hope, despite the ridiculousness of it, that they achieve their goal of a million paid users. I definitely want to see the full game released.

Anyways...you all know the drill, let's discuss the game.

I haven't picked up Cytus and still am on the fence about doing so.
They picked some phenomenal artists and the graphics look great, but the gameplay looks like a bad Technika knockoff.

Feels like one too.

The graphics and UI look ugly imo, and the timing is poor on purpose, I've heard. Doesn't deserve the good music it gets.

Personaly, If you have a I-device, I recomand it. Its really fun and you get a lot of great songs (in my opinion). For android devices, you might wanna get a Demo first to see if you get lag or anything like that. I wish I can play it again.

I'm in the "fantastic music, horrible gameplay" camp. When you can hit 16th notes out of order and get perfect judgment on both, something is definitely screwy

Tracklist is damn near top tier though. I'm going to lineout a few of these Chapter 7 and 8 songs for casual listening when I get a chance.

By the way, the two new secret tracks: hold down on the L on L's screen until it turns red or blue for two different remixes. Red is slow and trilly. Blue is ruthless.

Overall it's a fine game just for the music, gameplay is kind of meh but at such a low price you can't really complain. Tone Sphere is the same but the gameplay is a lot better.

Just a small announcement:

In case you wanted to experience this trainwreck for yourself without wasting your money, Rayark has made Cytus free in the App Store for the time being to promote their new flop rhythm game Deemo. In-app purchases are still required for chapters VII, VIII, and Symphony.

Trainwreck could have easily been avoided if it weren't for the gameplay. Damnit Rayark.

Am I missing something here?
I didn't know Cytus was going downhill; It's a given since pretty much everybody complained about the sucky gameplay, albeit the wonderful eye candy graphics.

My sister just recently download this and is pretty impressed with the MANY song choices (so far) and the graphics. We are aware that this system is like a Technika knock-off, but we seriously do not care about it. As long its' FREE, my sis will try anything.

I found one song that I can't get it off my head for a while. I wonder if a full OST is out.

I don't know why it's considered a "trainwreck," considering many players join in the music game genre.

From what I see in this thread, I didn't see any reasonable posts in here, it's just a bunch of "trolls".
1. The timing is poor on purpose to make an appeal to the newcomers of the music game genre. Example : me. From this game, I've started to look up on some other interesting music games too in the same genre.

3. "Trainwreck"? So from your point of view, a app getting 400k+ paid downloads (counting) and getting average 4.9 from 80k+ reviews a "trainwreck"? So what is a "success" for you guys- you mean the game has 2 grades, Master and Fail, or miss, no getting good, result in immediate fail? (I just can't take it).

In other words, this is dooky.

Redownloaded it and I was able to have it on sync with their feature to calibrate.
Anyway, it's a lot of free songs and has cool graphics.

Just spitting it out after trying out Deemo and then getting the urge to play Cytus again.
Good way to kill time.

So, finally FINALLY the 500k update just came out. New Chapter K, Chapter 8 is free, and apparently one new hidden song has been added to each old chapter. Can't figure them out yet.

You can't? It's been out for days! Almost everyone here knows about it already.

You may notice that the chapter selection screen has three numbers near the bottom: green (easy charts cleared); red (hard charts cleared); and blue (chapter's songs). Press the green or the red number to access the easy or the hard chart of that chapter's hidden song.

It's interesting how songs can now have pseudo-BGs now with this new update. Though since updating to 6.0 it's been freezing when it asks me to connect to Google Play Games. My tablet is getting old ><
