Rainbow after snow / 猫叉Master feat. 林ももこ
BPM: 179
5 / 7 / 8 / 9
This was pretty fun to make, although as much as I love the chart I felt it could be a bit harder so then came the chart.
I originally wanted to make the a 10 and do a jump step stream but that wouldn't have gone well

Towards no one specific, more of a general notice I guess since i've seen this come up several times so far, but when stepping your files for each week, please take a moment to tap out the patterns with your feet and see if you have accidental doublesteps that break the flow of the chart. I feel like it goes without saying that unintentional doublesteps are bad, and that most people wont vote for a file with very awkward patterns that break the flow immensely.

When I had this problem last year, Taro created a post explaining what doublesteps are and why they can be a pain, which helped me pay more attention to the details of my chart. I highly suggest reading up on it if you feel like you may have this problem.
The post right below it by xRGTMx is quite useful, as well. I even look back on it from time to time when I feel like my charts are too bland.

It's worst when the steps are right after a jump.
Something else I don't like is a lot of candle steps (steps where you have to take your foot across the center of the pad, so something like down to up) inside of streams combined with turning. Sometimes crossovers are also just better to double step if they're something absolutely ridiculous; there were a few files I've seen in this tournament so far where I could make out the crossover stream but the player would just be better off doublestepping it.
Edit: I don't know if I missed a post, but is there a pack download for the 16ths week theme?

Just remember that you have to set yourself up with the crossover and return to normal position afterwards. You don't want to leave yourself hanging. Here's another cool trick you all could try:
7. ALMOST SPIN (270)
When done correctly, this is one of the best crossovers/spins you could ever use.
Basically, take a normal spin (e.g. LURDL), and remove the last step, and return your body in the opposite direction (LURDRUL).
Here's variations you can play with:
LDRURDL
RDLURDL
LURDRUL
RULDLUR
For these, make sure your left foot is placed on the first arrow.
ULDRDLU
DLURULD
And for these, make sure your right foot is placed on the first arrow.
URDLDRU
DRULURD
Try it out, and always remember to set the steps up, pull the almost spin off, and then return to normal position.

Here's a full zip of the files for 16ths Week
(I never use dropbox, so if a 404 or 405 error pops up, let me know)

[HARD DANCE]
BLUE STRAGGLER / L.E.D.
BPM: 160
1 / 4 / 6 / 9
Aw yes nothing wrong with some more L.E.D.. The two songs I was stuck on doing was this and Yellow Head Joe. Looking back I'm glad I picked this because I felt like I can really do much more and had a better idea on what I wanted to do with this chart. I was going to make this an 8 but just ended up being a 9. Seems to happen a lot when I step L.E.D. songs.

The Technicolor Phase//Owl City
115BPM
Ratings:
- 2 | - 4 | - 7 | - 8
Because Owl City. And I felt like his songs fit the theme perfectly. The BPM was originally going to be at 230 (i.e., at 2x speed), but then again, the pace it's at right now fits the mood of the song.

Crystallized Silver (only did heavy and challenge because the harder steps provide room for utilizing more elements in the song):
Oni chart
- Measure 26 is grossly overstepped and the patterning is very hard. In measure 27 the 12ths go to the percussion so that's fine
- I'm not someone that goes overboard with technicality but a lot of the 12th streams you stepped are very overdone and have very rough patterns
- For the section starting at measure 36 something could have been worked out with the melody or the percussion; the 8th streams here don't match the song at all
- The minijacks into the jumps are pretty ugly and it would've been better if you accented the guitar with jumps instead with no minijacks.
Heavy chart
- Now this one was miles better than the challenge chart. The jumps also made a lot more sense and had a structure to them.
- What I notice from your files is that you tend to use a lot of candle steps which require more energy and speed to do. I also think this chart is a 10.
Also I don't know how everyone else goes about voting for files but what I usually do is check the hard chart first, and if I don't like it, I move on to the challenge chart. From my experience here the hard charts tend to be a lot better than the challenge ones in terms of structure and patterns that are more playable.
