First off, an article that claims that with the rise of rumors and leaks, a new Microsoft system is bound to be announced this year at E3.
With the growing discussion of the new systems happening elsewhere, I thought I would bring that discussion here
Sony released a teaser trailer that is ambiguous enough to be the next PS4 announcement and maybe some PS Vita games. Thread here.
Rumor #1: XBOX will require an internet connection and will block used games.
This isn't confirmed, but rumors have been going around about this subject for a while - will the new consoles block the ability to resell or even borrow games? According to that article, a one time activation code will come with new games so that once it's used, it can never be used by anyone else ever again. Other than the fact that you won't be able to buy/sell/lend/borrow used games, what will happen if your console gives away and you have to get a new one? Would you then have to request a new activation code for every game you own? Retailers that rely on rentals and purchases of used games, like Gamefly and Gamestop, will also probably go out of business.
Survey saying that if the new consoles take part in that new business strategy, consumers simply won't buy the new consoles.
Rumor #2: Next gen systems won't be backwards compatible.
Hopefully everyone follows Nintendo's lead and at least make the new systems backwards compatible by one generation. It makes sense.
Rumor #3: Kinect is mandatory and part of the XBOX, Game Swapping, and new Controllers
All of the information in that article is leaked from SuperDaE, who is a man that states that he got his hands on the blueprints of the Durango and was selling DIY Durango kits on Ebay.

If the Kinect really will improve and Dance Central continues for the system, I may consider getting it. Otherwise, I'll leave this on the shelf.

It's official!
Microsoft is announcing their new system on May 21st.
Also, The Illumiroom. Essentially, it's just light projections that match off-screen materials, such as passing an item that you can pick up at your feet or if there's an important source of noise to the side or something. Apparently, it'll also project clear images of your surroundings as well, though I doubt if it'll be that great on every game; here's a video, if you want a clearer picture.

Not gonna lie- that Illumiroom looks like it would be really disorienting... >_< But it looks interesting enough. Maybe I'd try it (though I doubt I'd end up getting the new Xbox when it comes out).
