Maybe it's just me, but migrating from 3.9 to the now-stable SM5 builds, I've found myself minimizing my file collection, and focusing more on a personal must-play selection rather than focusing on completeness. Apart from Power Mix stuff (which I subfolder seperately), I've crunched down to 205 DDR songs (that's less than any arcade mix since MAX 2!!), and still made 85 theme courses out of the selection.
The result is that I have a MUCH quicker-loading build, that leads to a faster/easier-to-navigate experience, and actually play more often as a result. Given a few fan-favs I skipped over (like practically all of 1st Mix aside PARANOiA), I'd say it's possible to get a full-on no-holds-barred experience in 210 songs or less.
Anybody else experimented in highly selective compliations? How many songs/courses did yours have?

I delete anything I know for a fact I will never play again (due to charts / song).
I tend to average an increasing 2-3 songs every month, but delete 2-3 a month from what I already had and felt should probably hit the bin. For DDR stuff I have like 40 ddr songs because I don't feel like having anything below 9's on stepmania.
I have like...134 simfiles which get played, and then around 100 more on another folder that doesn't get loaded onto stepmania because I have some story or other to keep them for later use.

I currently have ~8000 stepmania songs on my computer...
And ~250 GB of music games related stuff.
Help me.
I need to have plenty of songs, I don't like playing the same songs over and over.
The only time I tried to keep only the songs I actually play, I ended up realizing I just spent hours on this and still having hundreds of songs...
