hi guys,

i dont like intros and all that since they are so boring done online. i prefer person to person!

but itg or even ddr players are so hard to come by in the Uk.

I first played ddr about 4 yrs ago in a local arcade. but only started properly playing around 2 yrs ago. and what a wobbly, inconsistent ride it has been. Mainly due to me having moved 4 times in the last 2 yrs. not nice. also most machines in britain are shitty euromix'es and what not. occassionally you get a good, working Fusion or supernova but thats pretty much it.

So i purchased a metal pad about 1.5 yrs ago but the pad is a piece of junk (TX 6000). I tried modding it last year when i was in my uni accommodation but it kept getting worse and worse and now its not even working (as in...the pads are shit) - i wonder if it has been damaged in transit or something but i doubt it.

recently, London Trocodero has brought an open ITG machine back ! so i've been playing that one instead as its not bad.

my level skill: comfortable - 9
pass skill - 11

i wish i had more opportunity to meet ppl like you folks. the community around here is soo scattered its almost impossible to get hold of given my present socio/economic situation

finally, sorry about the rant lol

All the same, intros can be useful online, because they help other players get a sense of who you are and what you like Wink Glad to hear that you have some opportunity to play. I know you mentioned in the other thread that you're a fan of ITG officials - do you usually play Hard charts or Expert?

hey buddy,

yeh i will make a more detailed intro when the time comes i guess - sorting my life atm, moving out of london next month - thank god and hopefully finding a better paid job, get my life rolling.

and yes i do like itg officials but only as a starter pack - the music is a lot more appealing to me than ddr. though i do like stuff b4u and similar. its quite upsetting to see how touchy those ddr guys can be as soon as you point out that in the groove is a better game overall, with much more elaborate advanced charts.

i play hard and expert but unfortunately cant do stuff like vertex or euphoria on pad just yet, xpert i mean.

to me in the groove is a great product that combines exercise with having fun and listening to cool music. but i wish it was a bit more mainstream than it is.

You would do best not to say such opinions as if they are facts, because they aren't (subjectivemania's and all that). Just saying Wink

Mainstream music isn't all that popular to step mainly due to how uninteresting a stepchart can be from the music. Sometimes sync can be an issue too, depending on the song/genre. There's a few floating around though, just have to search a little (Divinelegy is a pretty neat archive for a lot of songs so that would be a good place to start)

I'm not completely sure as to the point of this thread to be quite honest, but hello regardless.

You can't pass Euphoria expert yet you think you're qualified to state ITG songs are more elaborate and advanced than DDR charts?

At one point they were harder, and yes they were more advanced but that doesn't make a chart good. Pluto The First is more elaborate and advanced than the ITG charts (I said ITG, not stuff you play off of your flash drive), and it's a horrible chart too.

Also, in general, ITG songs on hard a pretty boring and have you constantly facing one direction the whole time. I enjoy ITG, it got a lot right, but it got a lot wrong too and over all it wasn't a better game than DDR. You also have to consider that DDR had a huge head start. ITG would be a much better product than 1 and 2 were if it were still around today, but the ITG we got didn't surpass DDR in anything but difficulty.

How is it there at the Trocodero? I have read about it changing a lot since I was there in 2007.
