And I too have managed to get all Platinum borders on the Legend of Konami songs.



As I mentioned before, these were pretty tough for 9's. My score for a lot of these could be better, since in most cases I got the Full Combo and the AAA+ in separate runs. Also, I think I'm above 96% on one, maybe two of these songs.

Anyway, with that, I am back to having Platinum borders on all songs level 10 and below, with Gold borders on all 10+ songs. I suppose I should try to convert one of those into Platinum next (if the next music pack isn't released first).

And what the! It's far too easy for a 10+ (kind of like how Sakura Reflection is laughable for a 10)


Also, a recent score I made on Titan, I was really proud of it! (and actually can't really believe it)

This goes to show that the number of notes in a chart do not determine the difficulty of the song, rather, how they are placed. TITANS RETURN has the least notes of any 10+, but it's way harder than charts like Broken, Beach Side Bunny, Bad Maniacs, Engraved Mark, etc.

Recently achieved -1 on both the Simon's Quest and Gradius II medleys, plus -2 on the Super Contra medley.

Simon's Quest medley is simple enough. I'd call it an 8 (and even below the difficulty of the likes of STULTI [M]) but the Bloody Tears section brings it right up.

Gradius II medley is a good bit of fun. Again, it's the middle section (Burning Heat) that makes it a 9 - that and the simultaneous double objects in Take Care!!.

Super Contra medley really is a Hard 9.

Also recently got my first Level 9 FC (Wuv U), for the gold border. There's something about the entire Candy Rave series that makes me so good at them. Speaking of Candy Rave, I now have platinum border on smooooch.

Other recent achievements: STULTI [M] FC, OVERHEAT [M] FC, *7*7*7 gold border (Hard is evil), L'amour dans le lycée small screen gold border, and DRAGON KILLER small screen pass. I'm improving.

The only 10+ left (for now) is HAERETICUS, but that will probably never happen...

Those gold borders are falling like dominoes.

I've started playing 10s and 10+ where I know I have no chance, but just trying to pass them. I thought that was a decent start, until...

2 Miss on L'erisia.
And an AA on Bad Maniacs.

Turns out I'm better than I thought.

Any recommendations on next steps?

For the 10+, the easiest song used are
Bad Maniacs and Water Horizon.
A slight step ahead are Flower and Broken (those 2 are really good traning songs imo, they get you used to a good number of patterns for the harder 10+)

As of 05/12/14: FC'd MAXIMIZER [H] and was oddly proud of it.

My first full combo and highest grade on a Level 10 chart on Hard difficulty was by playing L'erisia (Primal Logic). It was a AAA and had a 94.1% score. My first time passing over a 2000 score was playing Thunderbolt on HARD difficulty. My score was 2047 and it was a AAA grade.

I'm actually glad I was able to AA it on first try, but no matter how many time I do it, it doesn't increase (even after understanding the rythm).

I usually struggle on RB, I can't seem to get the rhythm right. I can play most/all level 10s at 85+, but I consistently do great timing and not just timing. Are there any good tips for me?

Because RB is keysounded like IIDX, pop'n, and GFDM, there is a slight delay from when you tap the screen and when you hit the note. So, my biggest piece of advice for you is to try and tap "beyond" the screen. Make sense?

Beyond as in....above or below the timing line?

No. That's not what I mean. What I mean is that you have to tap slightly before the note crosses the timing line because the notes are keysounded. Once you find that timing, you'll be golden.
