I'm having some trouble breaking into the range of playing 8s. So far the only one I've managed to pass is Good-bye Chalon ADV (I've played and failed Polaris EXT as well). Could anyone recommend me some easier 8s? Hard 7s would work as well.

Polaris is a hard 8 so it's no wonder you would have difficulties as of now
For songs you may play (I'm only going with the AC song as I don't have the CS version, and I don't play much level 7-8 songs except for EXC it and leave it at it...so my input may be biased)
7 Hard: Yellow Head Joe (Bsc) is quite hard for a basic song
Ai no Uta is pretty hard too, definitively a 8 for me (it was a level 10 in the first version)
You can give Share the World or Albida a try
For easy 8, the first I would think about would be Sig Sig and Area 51. Hikari no Rock is pretty simple too.

Opening ~ Reminiscence from Suikoden pack is a pretty hard 7 scoring wise due to its many bpm changes. This is the only level 7 that I can't get a SSS atm.

Thanks for all your suggestions, guys.
Also, are 歌の翼 and 瞬 ADV generally considered hard 7s or is it just me? I'm having trouble getting decent scores on them.

Milky Ice Bear on EXT is a lv8 song, the chart is pretty much straight forward and easy to play.

君の元へ is the easiest of all 8s IMO. The song could even pass as a 6.
