Chinese New Year delayed my DDR parts from arcsdespareparts by over two weeks last year. They had even put a message on their website about it causing such delays.

Found this in eBay, ships to canada and free shipping, you might be interested since you had problems with shipping in the beginning of the thread Smile

What?! It says free shipping, but the descripition says "inside the US"
Well, i don't know, i made my mind, i'll just stick to playing IIDX via Stepmania 5 with the keyboard, then when
i have my own home and such, or at least can pay it myself, without my parents' consents i'll buy an FPS with custom leds and normal buttons Tongue

I remember buying two of these combos with the game for $20 shortly after they came out... stores couldn't get rid of them fast enough. It's a shame to see them so expensive.

I just want to make some personal notes on anyone considering getting an ASC. These views are coming from someone with experience from a FP7 equipped with DAO+Omron, FP7 equipped with Sanwa+Omron, stock Rainbow portable, and 2 arcades (Milpitas and Sunnyvale Golfland).

1) On table play, the rainbow portable moves quite a lot for an ASC during scratch heavy songs. The FPS has a similar build size, so I'd expect it to do the same.

2) Best cost effective choice for buttons would be the DAO+Omron. Brand new sanwas are too stiff compared to the arcades. Took me roughly a year before I got them to a comfortable resistance, but it still doesn't feel right. DAO buttons are meant to resemble broken-in sanwas, and are very cheap compared to sanwas. DON'T SKIMP ON THE SWITCHES.

3) If you have a nearby arcade, a FPS or Rainbow would be enough for you if you don't mind not getting arcade accuracy. It's close enough that you can transition easily. If you really want an arcade experience with the turntable size, you shouldn't even think about the PEE2nd. Shipping will already kill it, so might as well pony up the extra cash for the RES.

4) Don't mean to talk crap about dao, but the soldering on his button LED's are shoddy. If you know how to solder, get the colors you like, and re-solder the lights as they die. If you don't know how, you're better off not spending the extra money and going default colors, and replace the LED's with any miniature wedge bulbs.

5) If you only have one game for IIDX and don't plan on playing simulators or "simulators", you're better off not buying an ASC.

6) If possible, try to pick up an ASC on the marketplaces of music game forums. Shipping from china sucks.

Yeah, shipping from china really sucks, once me and my brother ordered two iPhone cases from MiniInTheBox and when it finally arrived here in Brazil, we didn't recieve it because there was "suspicious material" in the container, it was only 10 Reais(5 Dollars) so we let that pass, but, for like more than 400 dollars and not getting it would be like the worst thing ever in my life Cry
I think that since i have an iPhone i should consider trying i2DX XD
-After Trial-
Is it possible that FOR ONCE ANYTHING that i try in my life works??
My stupid laptop is too old, slow and the OS is too outdated to make an Ad-Hoc network that at least APPEARS in the network select screen on iOS, i oficially hate you, windows XP Evil

Now that I´m thinking about it... I could use a Beatmania IIDX controller that can connect to PC. Where can I buy one?
Nu Heat is Max Headroom.

Takes forever to ship, but the controller I ended up getting was ok.
Connects to the computer and is synced up pretty well.

You can always try finding someone who is willing to part with their dao. Good luck with that though.

There are two good options from what I have been reading.

The first one is the DJ DAO controllers from http://www.gamo2.com/en/. Base prices range from $200 USD to $380 USD and offer some nifty customizations. They are also fairly mindful of arcade specs, so it offers a more arcade accurate experience. PC support is good from what I hear, but I have also heard it could be better. The turntable supposedly has around 30ms of lag on PC.

The other one I have been hearing about a fair bit lately is the Rainbow Controller. Only one model is offered, but it's $300 USD including the cost of shipping. PC support is supposedly very low latency and has become a star choice for a few people I have seen around on forums. The only thing that many may find iffy is western orders need to be placed through their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/RainbowIIDX.

Sad I wish i lived in the USA or Japan, here in Brazil things are EXTREMELY expensive because of the shipping costs..
BTW, can someone explain to me exactly what is the difference between SANWA and DAO buttons?? Thx Smile

Same problem here... I must pay $200 for Default SVSE5 $120 Controller + $80 shipping. I want to make my own controller but its too hard and idk anything about these things...
Will add some stuff here later on.
