no, that's not how you can go at it. you can't just fill gaps. who knows what that video was in the past? we don't know. the spot has to be kept open in case the vid or a script relying on it shows up.

Also, concerning the PM I sent you a month ago, how come you didn't get the full version of Robot18/Robot18A? After all, the full version is Robot18A IS used in DDRMAX USA and JP. :/

in my video of it, there is a glitch, where during one frame, the bottom part flashes red. is this intentional? if not i'll try to image edit that out. edit: looked closer, it's definitely not intended, i'll edit it out.

I didn't see a red flash. :/



Full versions of visualizations I caught;

Boy5.avi/Boy6.avi (I want this one as much as Circle11!) The frames are smooth and the both Boy5 and Boy6 have a smooth transition. He like, does this arm twirl, somewhat familiar to Grassy Tunnel (Tunnel2.avi) and they spins again.

Boy3.avi/Boy4.avi They are actually two movies in one once again. Boy3 ISN'T PingPong, the boy fades out for a second, then it fades to Boy4.

Floor1.avi See the credits in this video. The movie is not pingpong (It's not even pingpong at all, even in the movie in this pack), the lights blink after the floor lights complete the spinning pattern.

Robot15.avi I've caught it several times in DDRMAX JP credits. It looks like Robot16, but in the form of Robot15 instead.

Robot18.avi/Robot18A.avi You know this one by now.

ok, robot18 is still an open issue. my vids seem to clash with the script (telephone operator). i will try to make the script for it work, to test the vids.

can people help identify songs these videos are used in (and on which mix), and if they had a name in the past, tell me that name?

as most vids are "text" vids, i think they are lost due to the large number of text vids (27), and clashes early on (before my time)

I've never seen those before. (except "blinds", which I thought was gonna be called DDR5)

I think "dizzy" should be called Ring8A.

if i make a video pingpong, it is never so because it is on the disc. videos are not pingpong on the disc. i make videos pingpong because they were made so before (and they ended up as such in the 2005 pack), so scripts rely on it. compatibility.

Alright. I got 5 pingpong movies to be loopable and not pingpong.

Anyway, why are the rotating kaleidoscopes out of order?

what do you mean, out of order? what exactly is wrong?

edit: i think i found what is wrong with robot18 and robot18a, and i can fix it. and part of the solution (i think) is that robot18a will be the full orange vid.

What I mean; There are four rotating kaleidoscopes.

this one, (12)

and this one. (13)

Now, whenever they are used together, 14 ALWAYS comes first. So I think it should have originally been called Kaleidoscope11. So that they would be in the right order. I understand if you can't fix it but it's just a suggestion. Kaleidoscope14 should be called Kaleidoscope11, 11 12, 11R 12R, 12 13, and 13 14.

you care about a kind of beauty that has zero importance/value for me. you want things in the right order. correct spellings. for the name to precisely describe what the vid shows. you want the pack to be beautiful if looked at.

that is not what i care about. want the vids to be usable. they're a tool. it has to be something you can rely on. they sit in the simulation, the player does not see them directly. but the player *does* see if a script breaks, so that's what i try to avoid. so what do i find important?

- that the same vid keeps having the same name

- that someone who is used to working with the vids can easily guess a name by association. for example, when you know the pack, you can guess that this type of rotating rings thing will be called "kaliedoscope". you'll also remember the fact that they're misspelled. of the many names existing in the pack, this is the only misspelled one, so it's not much of a burden.

- that the name is short and has no spaces (easy to type, use in scripts, etc)

edit: nice of you to guess/suggest names. but that is not the part i have difficulty with. i can do that too. it's not what i'm asking. i'm asking which songs use these vids, and if they ever had a name in the past.

You have freedom to call them "Kaliedoscope", it's just I'm used to saying Kaleidoscope. So if I say Kaleidoscope1, you can think of it as Kaliedoscope1.


Well I've never saw them before. Except for Blinds2. I'll let you know IMMEDIATELY if I catch them in a video.

Now, I wanna suggest fixing Text 19? It should look like this. Where the grid goes away and the cube gets smaller before disappearing completely. Your Text19 only shows the cube abruptly smaller before going away and the delete text appears.

To clear up a bit of naming scheme confusion (though I doubt it), when we made the vids and named them, we ONLY used A or B to indicate it was only the first half, or 2nd half of a vid. Beware may already be aware of this, but as an example, Basket1A is only the first half of Basket1 given some songs didn't use the full video. The R was just to indicate the video was in reverse.

I do have a question though, beware. I noticed a couple vids are really split up. The best example I can give is your Car1 - Car2C. Originally they were released as just Bowl1, Bowl2 and then their reversed vids. Did you do this intentionally, or was it ripped from the disc that way? I ask because essentially, the songs that used these vids (i.e. CRASH) use the full vids, and I guess that's why they were recorded that way initially, plus it would make it a bit more difficult to script the bgchange.

...this is also why I recorded/edited the videos for The Centre of the Heart the way I did, because it became increasingly harder to script splitting them up...
