Nintendo Wii U Thread

Going to save up the money for Wii U since Sonic Lost World was announced for it. Though I could get the 3DS version for the time being.

I'm definitely excited for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD since it's my #2 favorite Zelda game after Majora's Mask. I'm going on vacation in October, so I probably won't be able to buy it right away. I'm hoping it will also have some new content and maybe even a master quest mode aside from just the new graphics.

I'm also excited for Super Mario 3D World. I loved playing Super Mario Bros. 2 in Super Mario All-Stars, so to me, it's really awesome to see Toad and Peach be playable again. Super Mario 3D Land is also probably my favorite recent Mario game, so seeing the both of them combined, is like Mario gaming gold to me.

I plan on getting Rayman Legends soon, since Origins was super fun on the Wii even though I still didn't beat it yet, but I'm close to it. From what I did get through, it was pretty fun, so I'm definitely getting this one too. I guess I better start saving!

Finally played Wonderful 101 eeeeeee

The gameplay is crazy in that even knowing all the controls and nearly schooling a boss with like 1/4th of my health, there’s so many enemies at once that even with multiple temp weapons and 100 people I am still getting my guts handed to me in regular fights. And I'm still mixing up jump and dash...

I've only bought my 5th Wii U game since getting it last November on launch day. Splinter Cell Blacklist which I already have on the PS3 and bought the Wii U version out of curiosity because of the game pad functionality. The game looks better on the Wii U but man, the online is BROKEN, no one to play co-op with, it takes a minute to load stages, and has frame rate issues.

This game is much better on the PS3.

Really, though, no one else with a Wii U has even downloaded the demo of W101...? o_o;;; Even if you don't buy it, the demo will undust some WiiUs at least for a few minutes~
Everyone complains about the learning curve, though; you either have to bump the difficulty down or build a 100 person bridge and get over it. Or abuse continues... I think I died three times on one of the bosses and you only get five continues per level but WE FINISHED THAT LEVEL YEAH.

lol in all honestly I was kinda afraid to bump this thread because I felt like it just didn't mattered to people , but I'm glad to know there are other Wii U owners who are hyped up for the newer games coming out next year!

Hyping for Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS!!

I was nervous to bump this too. Not too many people are excited about the Wii U in general (except for Super Smash Bros. of course) since they only released a few new games for it since it's launch almost a year ago. I just bought Wind Waker HD today, and it looks fantastic. The new lighting and shadow effects really make a difference. It's definitely not just a slight re-texture like Ocarina of Time 3D is. This is a must own game for current Wii U owners. I'm curious to see if they'll make more HD GameCube remakes. I think Super Mario Sunshine would be a good game for an HD remake. Not a fan of Bowser's voice acting, but it would still look great in HD I think.

Wait Wind Waker HD already came out?

Yeah. It's been on the Nintendo eShop since the 20th. The disc version and special editon come out on October 4th.

Sorry about the double post, but did anyone else get Super Mario 3D World? I've been playing it nonstop for a few days now and it's just incredible. Long post I know, but I have alot to say.

It's definitely my new favorite Mario game. I love that they brought back Super Mario Bros. 2 in a new game. It's a perfect combination of 2D and 3D Mario games. It has gorgeous graphics, awesome levels, and the most amazing music I've ever heard in a video game. I know the cat power-up is a big turn-off to alot of people, and I'll admit, I wasn't a big fan of it either at first, but it's actually really useful in some levels and you don't actually need it that often anyway except for collecting certain things, and there are plenty of other power-ups too for those who don't like it. I feel like this is the game I've waited my whole life for. This game is the reason to own a Wii U. A die-hard Mario series fan like myself, couldn't have asked for a more perfect Mario game!

Might have to check out on that game then. Wasn't really impressed with Galaxy 2 and New Super Mario except for like 1 hour.

I'm not a big fan of the New Super Bros. games either. I've played all of them but... I don't know. I mean, they're OK, but nothing really special in my opinion. I don't like that they keep re-using the same music either. I didn't really get into the Galaxy games either. This game has alot of references from Galaxy though, like space themed levels, and green stars etc. and of course, Rosalina being playable. In my opinion, this game is better than all the Galaxy and New Super Mario Bros. games combined.

I really would like to get Mario 3D World. The Cat Suit gives you a huge help in speed running too. For those who have played, how much replayability is in here? There's enough with green stars and stamps, but I'd like to know if there's any more.

I do need to finish Wind Waker HD first.

If you enjoyed 3D Land then 3D World is a no brainier. The game follows that suit so well it's a perfect follow up to 3D Land. If you're sick of the lame "New" Super Mario games like me, 3D World is still a good time.

There's a few new trailers today including Hyrule Warriors which is a Zelda spin-off that I guess is similar to Dynasty Warriors. The name isn't final yet, so it could change. There's also a new Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, NES Remix, and the Rosalina trailer for SSB4. I'll maybe get the NES Remix game if they are the full games and not just mini-games if it's a good price. 2014 looks like it will be a much better year for Wii U games so far. Can't wait!

Hyrule Warriors looks interesting as a concept... but I seriously hope that they fine tune the graphics and some bugs that I saw on the trailer. I have some hope, after seeing how the graphically poor Project P-100 became The Wonderful 101.

Mario Kart 8 looks awesome as well, though I wanted a release date

Yeah. It's still not final yet though, so the graphics look rough right now but they should be improved and they haven't even thought of a final name for it yet either.

The Sunshine Airport course in Mario Kart 8 looks like it could be a huge hint for a Sunshine sequel or remake, but that's probably just wishful thinking for me... it just had so many references in recent Mario games though to not have something done with it... and I'd rather have a Sunshine 2 than a Galaxy 3. I'd still like to see a single rider or double dash mode too, since I loved Double Dash for that...
