The April Fools' festivities are here once again for GROOVE COASTER ZERO.

For today and tomorrow only, you can play a remix of the horror story from April Fools' 2013, 怪談「カーナビ」, one time:

You can also download a free "Fess up" avatar during this time. It's based on the star in the Fess up! stage with a funny face.

Necrobump

Groove Coaster Zero got a massive update changing the name to Groove Coaster 2 Original Style with lots of gameplay changes. Arcade Mode is one of them, allowing you to play arcade charts, since they have included multi touch after so long. You can also play with the microphone (think if it produces noise, it'll hit.)

Quick overview:
- Multi touch support in
- Arcade style charts in (VOLT when)
- Mission feature (think CROSSxBEATS)
- Title feature (Think of event rankings/level up stuff)
- Event feature upgraded
- S+ and S++ rankings added
- Some avatars are in colour now
- More improvements not listed on app page

Server is currently under maintenance, so lets see how active this game gets again.

A few notes on my end:

* ggsnipes forgot to mention, but it is also available for Android devices for the first time.
* Updated menu music and UI. Positive signs in the background flash green now.
* All charts are rated on a modified difficulty scale from 1-20.
* For songs you have purchased, adding Arcade mode charts are an extra $0.99. It appears this is even for songs you originally bought by themselves, but they unlock for the whole song pack they were in.
* Like the original charts, AC-Hard is unlocked by clearing AC-Normal.
* Not all songs are given AC charts. Fun-House and Eurythmics Trip are some examples.
* In the English localization, all Japanese characters in the titles were removed. 檄 is now just "GEKI" and カンナンシンク was renamed to "Mortification of the flesh".
* For some unexplained reason, though Mortification of the flesh and Punk Silent Night were given out for free, and they appear to have AC charts, you cannot try to download them without getting reirdected to an error page.
* New items from the arcade were added: Hidden, Sudden, Stealth, Mirror, Just and No Way. You can receive some by completing missions.
* Other missions for specific songs give you Titles.
* iOS requirements remain at 5.1.1, but Mic mode for control is only available on iOS 7 and up. It's only a gimmick, so not much to worry about for me.

No word on new unlockable songs or packs yet. I hope to see a lot of new arcade songs though. Maybe even some Tenkaichi Otogesai songs since they say they will be adding a lot of crossover events with characters, artists, and other games.

On another note, it's finally possible to full combo Music Revolver HARD! Multi-touch makes trills no longer an issue.

Also, though it was mentioned in the app changes that "iPhone OS 7 or higher is required to play GROOVE COASTER 2 ORIGINAL STYLE", I just tried the Mic mode on iOS 6 and everything still worked. I originally assumed otherwise because the first time, it crashed when setting microphone sensitivity.

And the AC charts for Not get wish, Music Revolver, and Wacky dance ethnic, which I have purchased separately, have just shown up for me.

I'm a bit too busy with other things to catch up, but if someone wants to msg me with things that the OP should be updated with ill toss it in.

Didn't know this was released on Android.. How long was this?

It just happened with the iOS update two days ago.

Just a couple of things about playing on an Android (I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII):
- The game runs smoothly, but the timing is off and multi-touch isn't really effective.
- There's no clapping noise whenever you tap the objects, but the keynotes will still play.
- You can use your Taito ID to restore your song purchases if you had previously played on an iPad.
- The game isn't in full screen.

I noticed that the timing on playing the iPad is more adjusted accordingly. With multi-touch, I don't fave to full combo Music Revolver with one finger again and can go for a full chain with my thumbs.

Everything works perfectly on my side Using LG G3, Timing isn't off,
Taito ID took awhile to register cause it errors out pretty easily for some reason.
Using your microphone is pretty... off though.

Okay, I caught up the event log on the first post based on the website news log. There's a gap in the log between January and July though; not sure if anything happened in that time besides the April Fools thing.

Yeah this game's been pretty dead until very recently. I was so surprised an update like this even came out.

If you are on Android you are able to pick up other event tracks, (Christmas event track)

My case is awful, the app still crushes when i get level up or in the avatar selection (still, because in the previous version is the same)

Version 2.0.1 is out. Bug fixes mentioned.

The special sale has been extended to from 7/15 to 7/31, probably because not enough people were buying them lol
