Haha, I guess you guys aren't familiar with how much posters of these new releases cost? Yeah, it's pricey, but it's also brand new and ~hella sugoi~

A quick glance at Yahoo auctions shows that someone could get that poster imported from Japan for about half what you're asking.

Sure, the initial bid is low, but you need to take into account everything else:
YJA price: $120-130
Third party middleman service: $20-40 in fees
Shipping in Japan: $10-15
Shipping to USA: $20-30
Shipping from me: $10-15

This is nothing new, this is how much posters for new releases have been each time, if not more.

Except the prices I'm seeing right now on Yahoo Auctions are $62, not double that as you're saying. Many auctioneers will ship overseas themselves (especially for something this small), and I know a few people off the top of my head that live in Japan and will ship to Bemani fans in the US at cost. That makes your cost assessment pretty excessive.

I wasn't going to say anything but you said we were all unfamiliar with how much these things cost... so I became familiar with it. And now I think -you- are unfamiliar with how much these things cost. When I see people in the states sell a Bemani poster they normally go for a bill... in perfect condition... at the absolute most.

Right, most stuff starts out at low amounts and since it's, you know, an auction site, the price will increase. Mine all ended between $120-130. I've done this myself a couple times and tried to get people to ship overseas. Only one out of the 4 (very small Bemani items) would do it, and they wanted $60 for shipping.

I doubt most people will be able to negotiate such a deal. Jumbo/Penguinman on BMS (I think he's here too) offers proxy bidding too, and his prices would probably be similar.

Yes, in 2 years, these will probably be worth $100ish, but I'm not selling an old release's poster.

Sure, best case scenario you can find one for $70 total and then have it shipped for $20, but that really isn't very likely.

But in any case, I could buy a 3DS and maybe a game for it too with the money this poster would cost. And while the poster does look really nice, I'd rather have something I can actually use as opposed to just stare at.

In other words:

1, 2: Me too. I have plenty of things I would rather buy. I'm just offering this for the people who are interested.
3: Do you really think I'm trying to rip people off? Hey, I could ask for $400.

See above. I'm not making any money on this. I'm offering the posters so people don't have to go through the trouble of dealing with middleman services, or trying to get a seller to ship overseas.

I agree, but see above. I'm not the one setting the price. I'm selling it for how much I bought them for. If people want it, they'll buy it. If not, that's fine.

I'd like to submit my own opinion, if I may. This sounds like a fine idea, and the posters look fantastic, but at the present moment the price is a bit too steep for me. Being that this is going by an auction system, the fact that a price could continuously rise up and up worries me that it may even exceed $180. I totally agree that this isn't an unfair price considering these are new, but it's just too much right now. Maybe in time I could get my hands on one of these for less, but until then i'll have to respectfully decline. But best of luck as far as getting these shipped out, i'm sure you'll find buyers

Thanks - since I did spring on the auctions so close to release, I'm sure the price was brought up by the number of bidders/hype. If I waited, maybe I could have gotten them a little cheaper.

1. How were you able to acquire that many posters?
2. You're selling them at cost without wanting to make a profit? Then why not link people to where you acquired nine of them to cut you, the middleman, out of the equation?

He didn't waste his money :/ He already sold a few, including one to me he has 5 left if I'm not mistaken. Come on people, $180 is not a bad price considering how much they're worth and how much shipping would cost Plus it's pretty epic to have the entire IIDX character roster on my wall
