The lights don't seem to flash much differently than the rhythm of the Basic chart. Either Expert/Challenge won't be as hard as we're anticipating or it is following the Difficult chart.

It's more than likely following the Difficult chart. I kinda doubt that the Heavy chart is coded into the game at this moment. Lord only knows.

No one is even close to clearing the Difficult chart at this point, so the Expert chart will probably be added in an update later.

Do you think clearing it on Basic will unlock the song? Or Difficult? Or will it be unlocked whenever Konami fucking feels like it because we're Konami, goddamn it? Find out on the next episode! Same bat-time, same bat-channel!

Obviously nothing happens if you clear OTP on any difficulty at the moment. The song appears to be the end goal in itself like Valkyrie dimension was with RDA. I think it seems likely given past trends for unlock systems and such, there will be an RDI phase III of sorts which makes OTP playable on the difficulty Max. (Period) was cleared, which also replaces the perfect attack requirement with regular sudden death since not even Konkani would be cruel enough to force players to play a 17 or 18 with perfect attack.

Or possibly all charts above difficult will stay hidden until the RDI event ends and all songs are fully unlocked.

The beginning of OT"P" is equivalent to bag on 0.5x, and it gets slower from there. And we already know that playing the song on 2x is already quite a bit too fast for the ending to be done on any difficulty higher than .

You went pretty far there. You just have to nail that speed up and you might actually get really far even in basic. Good luck with that ^^

So...I won't probably be helpful at all now but at low speeds it should be possible to time that first arrow with a small trick. I tried counting three beats at the speed of the starting part (it is actually 130 bpm) when the "READY" fully pops up in the screen (after the pop up animation stoppped which is a little later, enough to give you time to react) and I was able to get that arrow with a right timing. It's not really convenient but it could help a little if you can properly time that "READY"

I'm in the US and that video plays fine for me. The video should be watchable then if you put its URL through any of the many YouTube downloader sites out there and download it, or since it's on Nico you could use a Nicovideo mirror.

Back to Over The "Period"...

I don't know if it's already obvious or if anyone has already tried it (one of the two), but here's what helps with that speedup (the one after that Another Phase sample, at around 1:34 in Dr. D's video):
I would watch the step zone once I hit the freeze arrow. By mentally counting as the step zone is flashing--I don't know how to explain it just yet--it's way easier to time the 105-420 BPM speedup. Just throwing this out there.

Hmm, the video works fine for me, and I'm in the UK. Not sure what's with that. :/

also i forgot to say but echospherics tried playing egoism a while ago and it still took all his orbs (as well as giving max. as EES).

append: well, upped my score though didn't get anywhere close to the 420bpm speed up. died just before the 16th gallops because i was nervous.

that'll be my last attempt though since I'm going back to Indonesia for summer vacation and i kinda doubt it'll still go on for 2 months after this (especially if basic is getting close to being cleared; Derek, I'm looking at you).
