All right, time for me to put my two cents in on these crossovers so far:
FUNKY SUMMER BEACH: Curiously interesting song. Wasn't expecting the soundbites but I'll take it. P*Light made some good waves in his DDR debut (pardon the pun). Based on the sound alone, I'm expecting a half-BPM slowdown halfway through.
Wadatsumi: I have a really bad feeling that the step complexity (especially in its Expert chart) is going to be a bit much for a 16. I'm not complaining that it's in DDR, but I'm raising some questions about its (simultaneous) appearance in IIDX and pop'n for the Bemani Ruins event. Oh well, we'll see how this one unfolds.
remain: Awesome collab between kors k and wac. Structure kind of reminds me of Parousia from Cytus/Deemo for some reason. The instruments and programming that wac provided, coupled with kors k's dubstep somehow combine well. However, I was totally caught off guard by the BPM changes (based on the video one page back), especially the 300 BPM speedup.
Plan 8: Here's where I reacted in more ways than one. First I was hyped for Plan 8's appearance. (It would be cool if the generic video and overlays from IIDX could be displayed on a stage.) Then when I saw the ratings, I was disappointed. The OMES for LEGEND CROSS shouldn't have easier charts than any other song in the list (OK, maybe it could be tied with Crimson Gate--see below).
Crimson Gate: Whoever designed the jacket is genius, by using the katakana for "Crimson Gate" as the blades (or whatever they are). Song sounds awesome, and would make a great addition to DDR. My only gripe is the low-level charts (as it is with Plan 8). Again, having the video in the background of a stage would be awesome to see.
Really want to see the Singles charts so I can play them on StepMania at home.

It's funny, because people have been saying the reverse ever since Parousia first came out for BMS.

OMG! That looks really interesting to play! I was just thinking of that picture and how to do it and that was essentially the conclusion I came to. Someone else suggested hitting that using heel-toe, but that seems really difficult to do.
Append: treat it like a group of three 16ths: L R U (break) R L U and after each up, hold your foot until you next need it.

Yep! It's a tactic that was done on PIU frequently.Post #4649 · Posted at 2015-01-22 11:47:32am 9.2 years ago

Is this a serious discussion? You just turn to the right, plant your left foot on up, and slide your right foot forwards and backwards. o.O
Those are 16ths at 160BPM

Looking at Plan 8's chart, it's a case of good song and okay chart. It was seriously missing some arrows. I can probably pick out at least 5 spots where I was expecting more arrows (0:32, 0:42, 0:51, 1:18, 2:01), and the same could be said for the scratch-heavy sections. The little breaks could've easily used more freeze arrows. (Although it's a matter of personal taste, it would've been cool to have a 106 BPM slowdown in the breakdown). But for a 14, it's okay.
As for Wadatsumi , it's a 15 (maybe a high 15/low 16) until you get to the very end (which I will get to later). Nice little 16th streams there, wasn't expecting the stops (which since it's in DDR, I don't care either way). The piano breakdown could've used some triplets, and the freeze arrow at 2:01 could've been replaced with some arrows. (I think that's probably pushing it for a 16 though.) Then you get to the end (footswitches with a freeze arrow --just picture 4th notes within that freeze arrow and you'll do fine), and that section alone could warrant the rating of a 16. Looks like a good chart, and I can't wait to see the rest of the charts!

are you actually doing this? personally i find switching foot on the hold is more reliable and accurate than doing that sliding.

probably they're saving it for the Challenge chart, if there'll be any?

If an 18-rated for Plan 8 never comes I'll be rather disappointed.

Aww Plan 8 uses the non key change version. Did Ryu decide after the fact that he hated the key change or something?
Great charts though.

I haven't played it yet, but that seems the intended solution, since the chart mirrors the same section with the other foot.
