In the end, Konami is a business that needs to make money. If what I hear is true about their stock going to shit, it'd make sense that they'd prioritize what they think would be the moneymakers in the long run. Call me crazy, but I'm picturing cabs for reflec beat, jubeat, Gitadora, or even IIDX are so much cheaper to produce than DDR. Not to mention the fact that they could be easily ported for home consoles/portable device usage. The fact that they're barely paying attention to DDR doesn't really surprise me that much. At this point, a part of me really wants them to just sell the franchise, but that's just not going to happen. They'd probably rather the game dies with them, and go the way of Keyboardmania, DanceManiax, etc., despite the one hit wonder popularity it had overseas.

It will skyrocket once MGSV hits.

It's hard to tell if they aren't trying anymore with DDR because it's not doing well, or if it's not doing well because they haven't really been trying with DDR for quite a while.

As for as I know, they could try much better with the versions to the last game in the arcade series.

Based from my jacket viewer, IMANOGUILTS, Yamato, Din Don Dan, and Chewin' Bunny were supposed to be part of DDR 2013's KO list, not DDR 2014. Maybe this will give the hint about the actual status of releasing new KOs for DDR 2014.

And besides, chances for them is getting low because as of this month, we're getting the near maximum no. of songs per series. DDR 2014 has 78 songs now. Average no. of songs per series is 80 songs more or less. We have about 2 months left before we reach new year.

If they won't do new KOs, at least add some crossovers. Don't go into radio silence for a month and then go: "Hey, here are some challenge charts while we continue ignoring DDR."

Where are people getting "78 new songs" from? I'm counting a little over 60 for the "2014" folder, but I feel like only the songs that were introduced as of the interface change should be counted. DDR 2014 isn't "DDR throughout 2014" but rather the change to the game that occurred in May. Counted that way, there are 53 new songs, of which 22 are idol songs.

Konami categorized the 78 songs, starting with Maware, as 2014 in the folder, whereas the rest of the songs are in the DDR 2013 folder. I dunno why, but that's how it is.

I'm not confused about that.

https://remywiki.com/AC_DDR_2014

I'm counting 64 songs in that folder. Where are the other 14?

I guess RemyWiki might not be counting some stuff then. That's weird. Regardless, I think my point above stands. Didn't True Blue come out in 2013 anyway? Konami's organization is a clusterfuck.

Yeah they actually moved some songs from 2013 into the 2014 folder despite them being available prior to the update. For consistency I wish DDR would just stick to actual numbered releases. What was wrong with X4? This irritated me when they did it for the CS releases too.

It goes like this: all songs unlocked from Jan. 2014 (plus Maware) that were playable in DDR 2013 were being moved to DDR 2014 folder.

I already said this 5 pages ago...

IMANOGUILTS, Chuuin Bunny, Yamato Prim, Elysium, and Din Don Dan all had song data on the 2013 HDD.

Also, even if DDR 2014 has 78 unique songs, it's not a good judge of effort on KONAMI's part, because like half of those songs are from U.M.U.

My point is, something to reveal about THOSE songs in the 2013 hdd data. I was already aware about that before you told it.

The idol songs were rubbish, the fact that so much of DDR 2014 was that was what crippled 2014 as being a quality standalone game.
