i made this bms and tried to play the unkeysounded version, hitting my Z key so the sound of the keystroke lines up with the beat.
i got Goods the whole way through and almost zero EX score.
i tried doing the same thing within StepMania -- hitting the key so the keystroke sound lines up with the beat -- and it was perfectly fine. conclusion: LR2 is universally off-sync.
can somebody else try this? i just want to make sure i'm not going crazy or something like that.

How odd. I have not had to adjust my timing on LR2 and I'm getting scores about the same as I do on the PS2.

the weird thing is that if i turn on auto adjust, the timing offset just keeps going up and up and up each time i play the BMS.

LR2 was painfully off-sync.

Call me jealous! But I sure hope that's not the reason why.
I have a far inferior laptop and am able to run LR2 with no sync issues and rarely does it crash.

yeah sometimes i think it's me because when i tried doing the same process syncing DJ Hero 2, everything became off-sync. i thought it was maybe a signal delay between the keyboard and the screen, but i think that's way too miniscule to be a problem.
i know the few times i had my brother play LR2, he said everything was off-sync also. so i dunno.
EDIT: so for anybody else who has this problem, somebody from outphase.com found this tutorial which will come in handy for those with ASIO sound drivers/cards and a decent adapter for their IIDX controller
as for me, i have AMD sound drivers and i play on keyboard, so i don't think any of this is useful to me
