Largest number of each Bemani/Music series at a single location?

This is just a random thought, but I was curious what arcades had the most of any one music game series. I'll list the ones I know but I have a sneaking suspicion that there may be other arcades out there with more units of the same series than I have.

* These are just for the most number of the same game series in an arcade; not the total amount of Bemani. That would be at least 40~50 but it not the point of this thread*

Two machines of the same type in the UK? I've seen it once, only.

Dancing Stage Supernova , 2 in Trocadero, and that was the only time I ever saw it.

There were, of course, about a billion other machines there, but not all the same machine..

I wish they did this in the UK.

Do these arcades actually get so much traffic that 5 people will be playing DDR at one time on the same machine type?

Quick note : There were only 6 IIDX machines when I was at Tri Towers today.

On your 5 DDR machines questions and machines in general, yes, they do.

When I went this week at opening, I could get an open DDR machine for the first hour or so until just before noon, then they were all in use. In the evenings especially that place tends to get crowded (and hot which is one other reason I don't usually head there at night)

The popularity and business vary a bit based on arcade, but the Jubeat machines usually seem to be in use.

Do you have any idea why this type of thing seems to succeed in Japan?

I mean, if you had that in the UK, you'd have 4 unused machines. (Granted, the dedicated DDR X and up cabs here are so horrifically shit nobody wants to touch them with more than one credit).

I wonder if we had the same quality machines in a population dense place like London, if we could have tonnes of people playing.

Japan is the only place in the world I know of that can possibly handle this kind of thing. There must be so many unknown amazing players over there. I'd take it that in the West, a Max 300 AAA is like, the biggest thing. 80% of people would yell and be incredibly excited by AAAing it. And over there, what happens? Is it just.. not taken seriously, and everyone's freaking amazing?

So you think that the simple reason that there are more machines is because more people are willing to spend their time playing the game?

I just wonder why not many people want to do that over here. Get their ass off Wii fit and actually do some non upper body movement. lol

Also, there are more machines compared to abroad because there is an arcade market here and it makes sense to pour money into it.

Sorry to divert the topic. I just saw 5 DDR X3 machines in a row and instantly thought "WHAT?!"

All of a sudden I want to take a trip to Japan and see what the arcades are like. 'cept it wouldn't be very comfortable knowing I couldn't speak a word to anyone.

That's okay. You can enjoy arcades and many touristy stuffs and events without knowing Japanese. In the bigger cities like Tokyo there is usually a bare amount of written English to help you get by. Just don't expect to carry on a conversation in English with anyone.

... but now I'm drifting off topic. In any case I don't know the largest number of DM/GF machines. Before the XG series some places had 3 machines of each or more in some rare cases but nowadays I'm not sure since the XG machines take up so much real estate.

I'm with Brittany on this.. It'll probably be a few years before I even get a chance to go, but the arcades over there look amazing. 5 X3 machines in one place?

The most DDR machines I've ever seen in the same place was at Circus Circus Adventure Dome in Las Vegas back in 2003.

I'll never forget, they had:

Us 1st Mix
DS feat. Disney's Rave (!)
7th Mix
TWO EXTREMES.

In addition they also had a GFDM session setup (forget which version), beatmania 6th mix, and MAMBO A GO GO.

An arcade at a local mall here used to have 5 DDR machines (two Extremes, 1 Max 2, 1 Megamix/ghetto bootleg Extreme, 1 5th Mix) back in 2004. The number of machines got smaller over the years, and by the time the arcade closed in May 2008, all they had left was 1 Supernova machine, which used to be one of the Extremes.

The most DDR-type machine I've ever seen in one place was at Six Flags, New Jersey. 1 Extreme, 1 Supernova 2 and 1 ITG 2. Sadly I only played one round of SN 2 because in all seriousness who goes to Six Flags to play only DDR.

In terms of pure rhythm games the most was 4 at Laser Land In Amityville, NY with ITG, DanceManiaX 2nd mix, Beatmania III, and Drummania 2ndmix (but no GF).

At the time of the US ITG Tournament, those were all still there, and they had upgraded the IIDX to Red. I was 16 then, so it was....9 years ago? Maybe 8.

Family Fun Center in Omaha Nebraska had DDR Extreme, DDR 5th Mix, IIDX Happy Sky, Pop'n 13, ITG2, GF and DM something, Keyboard Mania, and Para Para Paradise when I was there last, but that was also near a decade ago.
Memories had quite a few machines too, but I never went there.

8 on the Break in Dunellen, NJ has:

Ah, okay but I was asking about the largest number of a single series. If we are talking about total number of music game machines in an arcade that is something else, and I'm willing to bet that number is somewhere around 40~50 for some of the arcades here.


Eh...sort of, but not quite to that extent (there are a number of players relatively unknown that have some impressive world record scores on the eAmuse network however). Most of the regular players know about the really good ones but is almost seems like music game overload in that there are so many accomplishments going by on so many machines so fast that some get overlooked inadvertently. When Tada (T-T.AHT) was here for a tournament and stopped by Ikebukuro for a few rounds, he AAAd/PFCd Paranoia Hades as a warmup and it didn't even cause people to bat an eye around the machine. Someone like TAKASKE will tend to draw attention though as he play barefoot on double and also plays the hardest stuff in the game (and also has the world record on a number of them). His wide and flamboyant style is a bit hard to ignore.

Of course, most players at the machine aren't up to that skill level and if they are waiting in line to play they will notice these accomplishments. In terms of general skill, there are those that can AAA/PFC most expert songs in the game, those that can stumble through Expert level songs, but not so much in between. There are also those that only play light and standard and try to MFC things.

This seems ridiculous compared to Japan and no one will care but in France there are (at least) 2 places with 2 DDR cabs :

At one time the arcade in Toulouse had 2 Pop'n Music Cabinets but the owner was only waiting for one of them to be sold.
