What do you find to be the hardest song which came out on a DDR version earlier than DDRMAX? Because of then it always was pretty obvious what's the hardest chart imo.
For me, it's a really close tie between RHYTHM & POLICE (Pretty draining if you ask me) and the 4th Mix Plus
chart of MY FIRE (UKS MIX) (Hard to get good timing there).

I always thought that Orion .78 AmEuro was really hard on x1.

Oh how easily we all forget Uh La La La :{
The 9-foot chart for Xanadu is a close runner-up. Absolutely no part of the chart or rhythm makes any sense at all.
If you count Doubles, then I think Turn Me On was probably a little bit harder to pass on doubles than Uh La La La was on singles, but still easier to full combo.

I'd count Uh La La La...played on the 1.5 at Derby. Oh disc errors, how I love thee.
Is it bad that I don't really have any particular trouble with R&P?

If Graduisic Cyber AMD G5 Mix
was on a DDR mix before DDR MAX, I'd probably put that up there as one of the toughest. Back then, that was probably the only chart with 16th runs like that.

HVAM can be a pain, probably the hardest for me & never thought of R&P as hard, only way you can screw yourself is if you miss during one of the streams.

I think the experience of growing up playing pre-max Catas as they were released, and the experience of going back and playing them in a world full of speed mods and bracketing techniques is going to give vastly different opinions on which songs are hard ^^;
I don't think R&P ever really seemed that hard at the time, because it was released in a game full of batshit insane charts that were made hard for the sake of being hard, and didn't really make any sense. R&P on the other hand, made complete sense, and played at a BPM that made it very easy to PA on.

You can download a simfile of it, but that won't convey to you the true horror of seeing it scroll up the screen at 15 frames a second. It runs in the 1st Mix engine. It's full of long streams that have jumps liberally sprinkled throughout them. There's no way of knowing which arrows are jumps unless you play the song enough times to learn it The steps come in a bar too early, and one of jumps in the middle of a stream consists of 3 arrows at once.

Alexia - Uh La La La (Almighty Mix)
Simfile should be in the database? It was in the DDRUK collection.

No, they were never done because we never got the real audio or graphics. The ones that were from DDRUK were essentially mock-ups.

It debuted in 3rd mix. Also you want early mix 16ths? Play Ska a go go. On Post #18 · Posted at 2012-07-21 08:24:53pm 10.1 months ago

Why are we even having this debate? ^^;
It looks out of sync, but it's actually that nonsensical on a real machine. The first half of the song seems to be a beat ahead of the steps, and then it starts to kind of make sense, and then the Jump Stream happens and nothing matters anymore.

Was the 3-step jump actually part of the game or was that an error by a sim artist?Post #20 · Posted at 2012-07-21 08:36:18pm 10.1 months ago
