DDR CD Jackets/Covers Recreation Thread

Sounds good to me. I get the nostalgia thing, and the only reason I thought of this was because all artist licenses from DDR 2010, DDRII (WII), DDRX2 JP, and DDRX3 use the jackets. It is true, the KOs just use cropped bgs. I'll create the 2nd thread for just cropped bgs for ALL songs. You all can decide whether to alter the bgs to add artist names to them if you wish. Otherwise, that will be done as-is, although there are plenty of KOs that don't have bgs, starting since DDR SuperNOVA. I'll post those up to get people started on ideas for those.

Thanks 3x3. Go ahead and start posting these older license "jackets" in the 2nd thread. This one is gonna be focused strictly on the licensed artist jackets that we can find. All KOs and licenses that never had backgrounds to crop, and cropping all previous backgrounds for the jackets are in the 2nd thread.

(In my Stepmania Setup, all DDR Solo songs are in one folder, so this is the folder I use for both mixes. This uses a trimmed version of Lord Toon's Bass Logo)

(This one is an almagamation of Lord Toon's 3rd Mix Jacket, with the 'Plus' added from Lord Toon's 3rdPlus logo.)

(This one is all Lord Toon's, I just added the folder bars)

I know this mix has already had one submitted but I used Lord Toon's DS logo which is a little bit clearer.

Exactly what is the policy for licenses on Extreme below?

On the first page, I see official album/single resizes. The other posts I've seen just crop the songs DDR background. Which is which?

That was before we decided to make a separate thread. This thread, specifically is for licenses by:

1. The original artist jackets from their albums or single releases for the licenses from Extreme and below, if they can be found. Crop the jacket down to 256x256 in png format and submit here. If you find more than one version of the song/album that you like, post them here and the members participating will vote which ones they like more.

2. If you cannot find an official artist jacket and are pretty good at Photoshop or graphics related stuff, feel free to create your own original artist jacket and submit and members will choose which they like.

3. If you find an official jacket but it's not of good quality, or risque like the E-ROTIC albums, BELLINI, or some others, feel free to try and clean them up, or to be more PG. I will be happy to give these to you in PM.

Working on a big grip of these atm. Some older ones don't scale well, and would come out really grainy, but I'm getting what I've got to go on so far. Just a QQ:

Is there a naming convention in place to keep them from overwriting banners/bgs? Like

...well, for now I'm going with Songname-cover.png. After all, some people may prefer screenpacks of PS2-era titles, or Ultramix titles, and those kinds of screenpacks - in fact, *anything* prior to arcade DDR X, Universe 3, or HP3 - would still require them.

They're all BG crops/resizes, but it's a start. Also, apologies for how dry the Universe "covers" are, if anybody with graphical skill wants to fiddle some fonts in there, I'm sure they'd be a welcome addition... unless you're a total purist of some kind, perhaps?
