The WiiU looks interesting although I have a feeling I'm just going to buy it for the new Smash Bros (Brawl is the ONLY game I own for the Wii, and I bought it 5 years ago...). I wouldn't be surprised if the new [Xbox and Playstation will have something similar to this but on a much smaller scale.
Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale.

I was actually referring to the touch screen interface. I imagine much like Sony tried to rip off of the why motion sensor with the six-axis controller (and later with Microsoft's Kinect and Sony's PS Move), we might see the new gen controllers have a smaller LCD touch screen on their controllers as well, possibly 2"-3" (size of a classic Ipod screen) jutting from the center rising perhaps 1 1/2" from the top of the controller. However with MS thinking Windows 8 is a great idea and Sony's multi-media empire crumbling each month, I wouldn't be shocked if they don't do this or implement it poorly.

As for Sony Brawl, I really, really, REALLY want it to be a good game, because as much as the Smash Bros series is perhaps my favorite game series, it does have some flaws, especially in terms of having some really over powered unbalanced characters. Sony is claiming they want this game to appeal more to hardcore fighter players, but from what I've seen so far, the game looks very poorly executed and the developers probably never played the game, let alone understand why the game is so fun. From what I've seen gameplaywise, it looks like you can only KO people with super moves.....Sad

I'm pretty much sticking to my 3DS at the moment. Mario Bros. U looks ok at best. Never played Pikmin so not excited about it. ZombiU looks fun but not enough to get me to purchase it. As of right now this is basically a console version of a DS.

The thing is, Smash Bros. style fighting and "hardcore" fighters are two different play mechanics. They won't be able to appeal to hardcore fighters and not ruin the game mechanics of the party-fighting formula. I think this is where game developers get things wrong. They try to focus on catering to a crowd rather than just taking an idea and running with it.

If the Wii and 3DS are any indication of this company's integrity and commitment to pushing out quality software in a timely manner then absolutely not. People will probably buy the console however for the new SSB (whenever the hell that might come out) however Brawl was such a huge drop-off from melee imo(thanks to Sakurai, who is developing the next SSB title). Generating maybe 1 rehash or revamp title to their main IPs a year is also just complete balls in my opinion...I wish they could just do something new so I don't have to go into a game only to be letdown by my expectations (e.g. DK Returns, New SMB, Twilight Princess, Mario Kart, etc...).

But that's Nintendo...they put OoT on a gimmicky handheld and the kids eat it up so why should they even try.

Fzero online play.

If it is anything like Brawl's online play, then I give up.

I don't particularly care for online play, tbh. Although if they couldn't do 4 people in Brawl right, imagine them trying to get 30 in F-Zero.

30 would be most glorious.

Track Editor though....and this is Nintendo...

you'll get the straight track piece, the turn 90 degrees track piece, then a special 90 degrees banked track, then if you beat the game, the special loop track piece. Oh, and you can choose between 3 thematic worlds.

Oh, but they did it with F-Zero X Expansion Pack on the 64DD (and it's bloody well done, it's pretty much what the dev team uses). If GX had the Machine Creator from XEP, then maybe...just maybe...

Whaaaaat?

Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
TLOZ: Skyward Sword
TLOZ: Twilight Princess
Metroid (Prime series, and Other:M)
Smash Bros. Brawl
Sonic Colors
Pokepark series
Super Mario Bros. Wii
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Xenoblade Chronicles
Rhythm Heaven Fever
Sin and Punishment
RE: Darkside Chronicles

And I've only owned a Wii for 2 years now, frickin' love the console, not to mention that it has plenty of worth-downloading titles, and N64 games look..."prettier" on it (not entirely sure of this but I don't remember Starfox 64 looking so "sharp").

Well, yes, I'm interested in Wii U, it's just that I'm not that much of a console geek anymore to shell out the $300+ that it'll probably cost at launch, with games I'm not really interested in. I'm planning to pick up a PS3 later this year, that should hold me over until they finally bring the good stuff to Wii U.

Super Smash Bros Brawl & AYIM are the only reasons I turn on my wii.

Once you beat games like Twilight Princess...you don't go back and turn your wii on ever again. Tongue

Maybe not immediately after I finish them, but I do enjoy doing a few sidequests after a while. I'm usually so hellbent on just beating Zelda games at first that I don't really appreciate everything they have to offer at first, but when you come back you notice things you never paid attention before.

Also missing from that list, TATSUNOKO VS CAPCOM.Evil Puppy

I have played just the first one on DS, but if the Wii version is as good, then yeah, add that to the list lol. My backlog is too long right now to add more gamesConfused.

I have never played the DS version. Second Opinion was my first game (which is basically the same as Under the Knife, but better graphics) and it got me pretty excited. I eventually played Trauma Center New Blood (fun too, but tbh I liked Second Opinion more) and finally Trauma Team, which is REALLY good (Not as many surgeries as Second Opinion and New Blood, but the other modes are really entertaining). I highly recommend them :3

I'm definitely planning on getting a Wii U some time after its release date. Though I am still deciding whether I will use it as a console for all game releases or if it will be more for Nintendo games. It all depends on the features.
I'm happy with the direction things are going so far, but I am still looking for a party chat-like system to be implemented where I can talk with friends regardless of what game I am on. The way I play games today relies on properly and effectively communicating with them, which is really important when planning to meet on a particular game or if I just feel like chatting while we all play different games.
If Nintendo adds a system like that, it's a done deal and I'm ditching my Xbox. I'm, quite frankly, really tired of Xbox's horrid dashboard and its pitiful ads.

well, it already has the ability to press the home button, look on boards and do other stuff, like that guy did in the ZombiU video, when he video called someone for help and resumed the game straight away.

I would probably wait around for a bit first; the time in between the public release date and the moment a must-have game is released can be used as a buffer for undiscovered bugs and/or critical flaws to be resolved.

BUMP: WiiU pricing & release date have been confirmed. I hope somebody else hasn't pointed this out already. the "base" white model is priced at $299, and the "deluxe" black model; with higher storage capacity, more accessories and a copy of NintendoLand will be priced at $349.

Release Date is November 18th in North America.

I still want the black one, because black is awesome! I always thought of white being a "boring" color, even though white's technically the lack of all color.
