Taken from my recent Let It Out post

Okay, no more livestreams for me until I can figure out why my computer crashes while doing so. Can't even livestream Spiral Knights while running a webcam for more than 10 minutes without the problem.

All it does when it crashes is it shuts down immediately - no BSoD, nothing. The games run perfectly fine - they just won't play for more than 10 minutes without the sudden shutdowns. Time for me to invest in an Alienware X51 with 8 GB RAM.

Laptop specs to those who want to know.

Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
AMD Phenom II X4 N970 (2.2 Ghz)
ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4250 (drivers up to date)
4 GB DDR3 RAM
640 GB 5400 RPM HDD
Realtek HD Audio (drivers up to date)
15.6 HD LED display (1366x768 resolution)
1.3 MP webcam.

Games were up-to-date as well as the Steam client.

I think it could be a laptop being overstressed so I will have to clean the vents and heatsinks. Plus upgrade to 8 GB of memory just to be safe.

EDIT: My laptop has averaged at 68 °C in the CPU and motherboard. And that's without any games running. Guess the reason why my laptop shuts down randomly during a livestream of Spiral Knights.

"For Aiur~!"
I think you need super-ultra-cooling fan.. And you do it on your laptop? Use desktop then.

"Cream of the crop"
Your computer is overheating. Make sure the processor is mounted properly, has complete contact with coolant/thermal paste and heatsink, and that the laptop's fans and are all running properly.

I think my laptop fans were knocked out when I had a drop accident a few months ago. I'm going to bring it in for an inspection whenever I get a chance. I might have to build a desktop if I have to.
