*Book, rise from your grave!*

Okay, so last year wrote (badly) a book chronicling the history of the Japanese DDR scene/community

The common feedback I got was that it had some interesting information in it but it wasn't so wonderfully written (to put it lightly). That and I think 6x9" was a bit big for the book, so I knocked it down to a 5x8" size and changed the typeface to make it a bit easier to read...in addition to a bunch 'o' other changes.

The most noticable one would be the change of the title to "Counting Combos" instead of "Combo's Continuing". Even though the latter was a spoken phrase in earlier DDR games, it just looks odd in print and tended to be a put-off for readers unfamiliar with the game or the context since it does look incorrect grammatically.

Well, I had 2 proofread passes done on it and added quite a bit of content, so feel free to check it out free here, though it is still being touched up a bit.

*NOTE* The margins are purposely like that so the book has a gutter margin when it is printed.
If you are viewing it in Adobe Reader, use Alt V->P->T to view it more like a book

When it is finalized, it will be available on Createspace
https://www.createspace.com/3819770

And Amazon later, but not *quite* yet.

However, I would like some help with designing the cover. If anyone out there is a graphic designer and/or wants their name credited in this or something, I would appreciate any input you had. The book is 206 pages, 5x8" sized for those interested.

Here is a bonus, but here are images of the original book from this past year, complete with the old, grammatically-awkward title.

I'll add it onto my Kindle and check it out. I must be a sucky editor, though. Because the only beef I had with your original run were some gramatical and spelling errors. I didn't think your writing was bad. Actually, I kind of enjoyed how to-the-point it was. I hate authors who over embelish their writing.

Most of the problems with the original were verb agreement errors, colloquialisms, and spelling/general grammar errors.

The length is about the same overall except for a few small added points, the 2011 Chapter (in retrospect I maybe should have waited a year to comment on something so recent) and the Addendum.

I don't think the overall style has changed *that* much but feel free to let me know what you think. I wanted the overall layout to look a bit nicer, though.

I'm on the 3rd revision and I still do see a few small verb tense agreement errors. (is/was, did/are doing, etc.)

Hey seishinbyou, I wanted to say this book was a very interesting read.

I got into the DDR scene a year ago and I remember reading a few excerpts from your first copy when I started playing.
I have to say, I was very intrigued with the information and how the DDR scene had it's "ups and downs" within the East and West.

I'll be sure to purchase a copy when you've completed the final revisions and of course introduce this book to my many friends who have been in the Bemani scene for years.

Thank you very much for your feedback.

If I may ask, what part(s) did you find the most interesting?

I actually ordered the Proof copy of the book about 10 minutes ago (though it isn't expected to arrive at my house until June 6th at the latest)

This most recent versions have changed considerably from what I first released over a year ago. Some of it was due to feedback but there were many small details I had just plain forgotten to add, needed to clarify, or felt I really should have mentioned for whatever reason. The writing is certainly more polished as I had help with a few proofreads already. Once I get the Proof copies in my hands I plan on doing another check that way before putting it on sale, and if there are mistakes I find before I get the Proof or after I get the Proof, I'll touch it up and put that version on sale.

As I had learned from publishing AIJBot Poetry, seeing the actual physical copy is very important in order to see the overall layout and how it all looks/reads on paper.
