So, who's getting the PS3? :P

That's right, as the topic asks! =3

So who's getting it? I don't plan on getting it right_this_moment because I'm thinking about how drastic peripherals conversions would possibly be. As a BEMANI fan, I'm concerned about the timing and such especially with all these HDTV thingies now, so I'd just wait on this system.

Another thing is, I'm debating on whether I should get the Japanese PS3 or not...I should, actually since I can read some of the language and deal with some heavy Kanji (Star Ocean 3 anyone?), and also, I'd be able to play all my BEMANI games on that one console...this includes PSX, PS2, and PS3 games.

Everyone should know by now that the PS3 will be region-free for PS3 games ONLY (not PSX-PS2).

I will be getting it, but not right away... need to wait for the hype to die and the prices to come down a little and also to see what games actually look like in person. 8)

well i will be getting this console because im a sony fan.
But like alan said i will be letting the hype calm down and the prices to drop and then i will be getting myself one.
and the one way to get round the HDTV part is to plug it into ya pc monitor.

Because most pc monitors can do HDTV so that is that problem solved. i wont have to be going out and buying new television now thank god.

Well, that's not necessarily true ... PC monitors DO NOT support HDTV (Component connections / HDMI connections) ... you need a VGA cable to connect your monitor with the PS3 or a DVI cable depending on the PS3 specs and your monitor specs.

Plus you just know Konami won't switch the Bemani line-up to a different console. So yeah PS3 for the win.

For me: I'm never getting it unless there is some oh my god must get game for PS3 but so far there isn't.

GTA IV ... not PS3 exclusive so no PS3 for me.
Final Fantasy XIII ... not PS3 exclusive either so no PS3 for me.

Looks like PS3 is out of exclusive games, Xbox 360 FTW.

I never got into the GTA/FF series'

The only FF game I really got into was Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and that's one of my favorite games of all time, but I just want to play IIDX on the PS3, that's all I'm hopin' for.

I may get the remade PSTHREE in about 2-3 years or so time when Sony actually get it right and finally make the console look half decent. Then I'll buy all the old games fairly dirt cheap like I did for the PS2. I have a nice little selection of PS2 games so I need backwards compatibility and I'm personally not sold on this whole "better graphics = better gameplay" thing Sony seem to believe in. Is it really so wrong of me to only desire a standard Plasma TV with non of this Hi-definition crap?

Also still weirds me out when I hear people saying "PSX", because it was never released over here. All we ever got was the small, very nice looking, PSONE.

I'm looking to get a PS3 sometime next year, mainly for playing Rock Band, and I also want Wipeout HD, Gran Turismo 5, Tekken 6, and FFXIII (which, contrary to Al's comment months back, is still listed as a PS3 exclusive).

That being said, I'm still content with my PS2 and PSP.

Was it necessary to bump a near-4-month old thread? Anyway...I was originally getting a PS3 for FFXIII, but now that it's also for XBOX360, no reason for me to get it...

true, PS3 isn't THAT hot nowadays, but my older brother just doesn't want to get a 360...because he claims to "not be a real Xbox person" yea right, i have played Xbox, PS, and Nintendo before, they are practically the same thing, except different controllers and different buttons...but that's about it.
