So I am confused, and maybe I am wrong, but why is there Challenge difficulty for all the songs on DSfDCT? There is no 4th difficulty. The difficulty after Maniac is "Step Up" but it only escalates difficulty after each stage (S1 - Basic, S2 - Difficult, S3 - Maniac)... So why is there challenge difficulty?

Because there is an S-Maniac mode
It has been a long time since I've seen that, though.
It is listed here how to get it (in Japanese)

According to that, after you put in your coin (before pressing start) step this:
The title screen will turn blue if you did it right.

Holy shit I would have never figured that out hahaha. Well I AAA'd all the songs on Expert today... I am sure I am going to have a blast doing all those songs on Challenge (not really). Thanks btw.

Super Maniac mode is pretty much the only reason to play TKD and DCT. The Monster Is Coming and Celebrate Nite become seriously great.

Well, from what I've observed, Celebrate Nite's S-Maniac chart ended up becoming the regular heavy chart on the regular DDR games (I think the same goes for Sexy Planet).
It shouldn't matter since you are after the exclusive songs on this mix.

Wait so does that mean the charts for Celebrate Nite and Sexy Planet on the 3rd difficulty are exclusive?

@Cowtao: I haven't checked in a while, but I CAN say that the exclusive 
chart of Celebrate Nite is not as spinny as the canonical chart (and that, my friends is hard to do without a bar and with no double-stepping).

Ah yes, The Monster Is Coming, gotta try that at some point. How tight is DCT's timing window compared to Extreme's?

Its pretty much exactly the same from what I can tell. So I played all the Super Maniac charts today and this mode makes some charts easier (even though there is more steps) and some pretty damn difficult. The big wtf chart is The Monster Is Coming. I got down to 6 greats on it today... Its possible to AAA... Just very, VERY hard.

They are available, but the charts are not seen on other games.
