"I really want to hurt you."
I know ITG ratings are supposed to be the same as DDR ratings, but with 11+ in ITG and the X scale in DDR I was wondering about some songs recently.

10
FELM Heavy
Paranoia Hades Heavy
Pluto Challenge
ΔMax Heavy / Challenge
Possession Heavy
Anti-Matter Heavy
New Decade Heavy

11
Faxx Heavy / Challenge
Pluto Relinquish Heavy
VD Heavy
Anti-Matter Challenge
Mei Challenge
Possession Challenge
New Decade Challenge

12
Paranoia Hades Challenge
Pluto Relinquish Challenge
FELM Challenge

13
VD Challenge
Possession D-Challenge

There is no way those songs are ITG 10's.

The general rule with ITG ratings is they're slightly lower than their equivalent DDR ratings; as far as officials go:
ITG 9 = between 7-9 on DDR
ITG 10 = high DDR 9 and low DDR 10 (ie Sakura)
ITG 11 = mid/high DDR 10
ITG 12 = high DDR 10
ITG 13 = 19s on the DDRX scale

Thus:
Felm Expert = 12
Hades Expert = 11
Hades Challenge = solid 12
Deltamax Expert = 10, Challenge = 11/12
Antimatter Expert = 11, Challenge 12
New Decade Challenge = 12/low 13
VD Challenge = mid 13
Arrabbiata = 10
Faxx Expert = 12, Challenge = 13
Roppongi A = 10
Roppongi D = 11/low 12
Fire Fire = 10
VD Beginner = ITG 8
Captivate Chikai = 9
Relinquish Challenge = 13
Pluto The First = 11
Uranus Challenge = 9
Chaos Challenge = 11
PSMO = 12
Max 300 = 11

IMO

"Give me a steady beat."
I thought ITG went up to 15 these days.

A single digit difference between PARANOiA survivor MAX Challenge and Valkyrie Dimension Challenge? No sir.

NO SONG hits the 12 range until FmaxX Heavy. Hell the only 11 pre-SN1 would be PSMO.

e:
So Deep = 10 (could pass off as a high ITG 9 though, the song is really easy)
Maria (I Believe) Doubles = 10 (SLIGHTLY harder than Kimono Princess Doubles Difficult)
Surrender Your Love Doubles = 9 (best chart in SuperNOVA, full stop)
Flash In The Night = 9
God of Romance = 10

Bloodrush would like a word with you.
Saying that, I find PSMO harder than Delirium purely from the turns (Straight runs at 163bpm is not much of an issue, turns at 290 (145) are a lot more draining).

I will say though that VD wanders into 14 territory, it's a lot harder than Vertex^2.

A DDR 7 qualifies for an ITG 9? Are you sure about that? Heck, I'm not sure if a low DDR 8 would qualify (of course, songs like No Princess, Little Kitty Mine, and Birdie to name a few probably shouldn't have been rated 9).

So, I guess Max 300 and Paranoia Survivor (and maybe Paranoia Survivor Max:heaSmile would be 10's, and MaxX Unlimited and the legend of max 11's? If So Deep is a 10, does that mean Exotic Ethnic, Healing Vision -Angelic Mix-, XepherChallenge, and Cartoon Heroes are 10's? SakuraHeavy might be is definitely easy enough for a 9 even on ITG since I have passed it 1x no bar -- something I have never accomplished on any ITG 10. I'm not sure if Healing-D-VisionHeavy should be rated 10 on DDR, but it might qualify for an ITG 10 if Mercury's conversion is accurate.

I've actually played on an ITG upgrade cabinet that actually has a folder containing DDR EXTREME songs, so maybe something like that would help us decide?
If you are taking the time to read this, then why don't you be my friend?

Can you please give a more thorough explanation as to why that song would be a 10?

If you mean in terms of what it would be on in DDR, then yeah :/

If you're talking about ITG, then that's usually considered the hardest 10.

Also, 7-9 = ITG 9 my ass. The average ITG 9 is much harder then an average DDR 9. Compare On A Day Like Today/Liquid Moon to Mad Blast/Uranus, which are a level apart.

DDR's old rating system was very inaccurate though, considering some 8's (Witch Doctor) were harder then some 10's (Sakura)

P.S. PSMO wouldn't be a 12, some people (not me though) consider it easier then The Beginning. Hades would possibly end up as a 13 based on the Jumps in the long-ass deathrun, and VD wouldn't be a mid-13, more like a borderline 14.

It's quite possibly one of the twistiest and most technical DDR doubles charts I've come across (bar Kimono or 888), and since in places it's basically a slow PSMO on doubles it's an ITG 10 (becomes a high 9 once I take my Supernova 2 rating hat off). It is an awesome chart though Big Grin

While that's true for The Game, Twilight, Touch Me and Liquid Moon, I'd still put No Princess, Romeo and Juli8, Da Roots and Spaceman down as DDR 8s, Birdie a high 7.

Dude: I find On A Day Like Today is for the most part easier than So Deep. Compare Maxx Unlimited Difficult to Kagami, which are a level apart.

Yes but PSMO is harder than Vertex. (and easier than Bloodrush, Euphoria)
The Beginning is TIRING though (hardest 11 IMO), on the other end of the 11 scale you've got Xuxa, Vertex^2 Hard...

Bottom line is, I find twisty charts are tiring (and thus, hard) while straight runs are fairly easy upto about 170-180? Apples and pears and all that...

Those 9s you listed are the easiest of them all. An average one is probably My Life Is So Crazy, which is basically 14 X-Scale. Also, have you never played Monolith?

I find LOM to be MUCH easier then 300, though Unlimited is the hardest.

A lot of your 13s are more like 12s--Anti-Matter, PARANOiA ~Hades~, Pluto Relinquish and 888 come to mind. VDO is a 13, too.
But generally I agree with you. Max 300 is what I think of as the difficulty level of a "quintessential" ITG 10.

Are you talking about "Maria (I Believe)" as it appeared on DDR Extreme 2 PS2 NA? (http://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/viewsimfile.php?simfileid=99)
Because it really does not sound like you are. You really must be thinking of an entirely different chart. If's really not all that twisty or technical, and it's nowhere near a 10.
I'd rate it an 8, myself, but that would be a bit of a stretch.

For converting ratings between old DDR and ITG, I consider the scales the same. A 10 on DDR that isn't misrated high is at least a 10 on ITG, and a 10 on ITG is a 10 on DDR. The major difference is that ITG doesn't have as large of a gap between the hard 9s and the easy 10s the way DDR does.
Cartoon Heroes would be a 9 on ITG. (compare it to Liquid Moon)
Sakura Heavy would be a 9 on ITG.
So Deep could go either way.
Arrabiatta D-Heavy would be a mid range ITG 11. (passed it the other day with the bar, never playing again)
Arrabiatta singles would be an easy ITG 11.
PSMO is a mid range 11 on singles and doubles. Most of the song on singles is easier than The Beginning, but the death run at the end makes PSMO harder to actually get a pass on.
