i finally have gotten used to the idea i will never have my DDR 3rd mix Korean running again...(security cassette is dead, and i cant find a bootleg rom, or no one has a spare multi mixbootleg rom)) so i bought a ITG 2 hacked PCB with ITG 3, DDR1-8, SN1, SN2, X, X2 and more...i am not sure what more is but hey!! its gonna rock

i cant wait to get it and i think i will be the only person in victoria (australia) with a ITG machine!! this includes arcades

ITG party my house?? anyone??

Aww, sorry to hear that. You're going to have fun with ITG. I would look into patching it with OpenITG to give you more options and more control over the content. You could go into business for yourself over there with a unique arcade machine. Cool

nah i am not rich...just lucky to find things cheap on ebay my DDR cab i bought from ebay for 1500 in Australia with DDR 4th+, 5th mix and extreme bootleg kits so i can swap when i like. i was lucky because the DDR cab i bought had very good sensors and none missing

i found the ITG upgrade kit through a friend and it was 1700 including shipping pre hacked with all songs...it also has the USB hub and an ITG 3 marquee how awesome...yeah i know itg 3 never came out but it didnt stop people still making it lolz

if you want a machine like that find a cheap DDR extreme on ebay or find out if an arcade in your area is selling theirs..., and upgrade it to ITG, just pull out the old PCB and plug in the new.

my next project is upgrading my PIU DX with Fiesta....another ebay find for $400 lolz

HO LEE SHIT, you got ripped off! That's more than you should pay for an entire machine!

"Oh god what I have dooooone?!"
oh wow people are talking about me.

first things first. don't ask me. i have a tendency to fuck things up, it seems.

I mean, simple shit sure. But for everything else, r21 freak, boxor roxors and aaronin.jp

And get multiple opinions before you do anything. Seriously. Even in those places some people can be a bit meh (ie me), so to not risk breaking anything yeah have a look around and see who seems to know their shit.

Vyhd (maker of OITG) answers alot atm. He KNOWS his shit.

Also clone the HDD.
You can ask how to do that here.
aaronin.jp/boards/viewforum.php?f=17

And yeah suko's right, I'm in new zealand. There's bluem4om4o who's in aussie, he works at TimeZone I believe, and there's a couple of other people (Xynn on r21 freak I THINK) is over there too.
Have an ask around.

Also considering that's Australian dollars, I would say that's a pretty good deal IF everything works fullstop no exceptions.

And funnily enough I had an issue with Timeout's machine dying (bad flash cart or something) and I wanted to try installing a bootleg mix but apparently bootleggers only want to give you it if you own the machine. Sadface, and thus one of NZ's few didder cabs goes lifeless. Still don't know what's going on with it, actually.

Sentence 1: Yes
Sentence 2: No

You could've just used OpenITG for around 500 bucks (Computer charges) which would've saved you the cash. But a full machine nowadays costs $12000 (Dedicab). Dunno about upgrades.

Actually, a bit about upgrades. Sigma got his for $2000, and the person he got it from (Owner of a bowling alley) "figured he would just give it to him"

I'm sorry, but I have personally seen genuine ITG 2 kits go for ~$500 and upgraded ITG 2 cabinets as low as $1000. I realize that's not common but that's what they're realistically worth. Especially since the machine hardware is likely a decade old. Just because something is rare doesn't mean it is valuable. I hurt when I see someone selling a used, seven-year-old, bought for $7000 Andamiro ITG 2 machine for as much as $25,000 because I know some schmuck is really going to buy it and the seller is going to expect that amount for all future machines.

I've seen people list upgraded Korean DDR machines running a bootlegged ITG 2 kit for over $10,000. It really has to stop.

As for an OpenITG system, I can do way better than $500 USD. Last year I priced what it would cost to build a slim-profile system from scratch (That would fit into the confines of a DDR cabinet with the 573 removed) that had more advanced hardware than ITG 2 shipped with (a dual-core processor, more RAM, and a higher end video card) including the J-Pac and all the needed wiring to make a DDR compatible with a PC setup. Purchasing off-the-shelf components I came to just over $300. That would come down significantly if I could find a supplier and make a bunch at once.

in australia the only distributor for ITG has told me personally that he can not get the kits any more, so i didnt see $1700 as a rip off (this included shipping from USA to Australia dont forget which was nearly $200 USD) and also a DDR extreme PCB still sells here for about 1200....the distributors here sell an upgrade x2 kit for nearly $4500 we pay alot more for things here than you guys in america (600ml bottle of coke nearly $4.50 in some places)

oh and yes somethings are rare and not valuable...but they are worth what people are prepared to pay!! i was prepared to pay it so i am not fussed...
also in australia i think there is about 8 itg machines in the whole country...and none of them are dedicabs, they i think are all old Asian 3rd mix upgrades or 3rd mix Korean upgrades....Australia didnt get many Japanese cabs to begin with...still they work pretty damn good...and myself owning an old DDR 3rd mix korean cab i cant complain about anything it works the pads ae great and sensitive..

Oh just a heads up, because you've got a korean cab you'll probably have to install an isolation transformer on the monitor board, I remember reading about that in the upgrade kit manual.
