Rockstar Games confirms Grand Theft Auto V, Trailer out Nov. 2nd
Not sure if we have GTA fans on the site, but i thought it would be nice to post this. DEFINITELY looking forward to this game, no details about location though, guess we will all find out come November 2nd.
Release Date (Tentative): September 2nd, 2012
Location of GTA5: Los Angeles a.k.a Los Santos
Multiple Single Player Character storylines possible.
UPDATE: Trailer is now available. Location seems to be in San Andreas, however no indication if San Fierro and Las Venturas is in the game. Only the Los Santos area seems to be clearly shown in the trailer. Main character's voice is heard, no name. Housing and renovating homes seems to be a new feature in the game.

1:3 chance location is going to be like a NYC style.
Kinda wish its a Las Vegas type of style or Miami

I would hate it if it was still Liberty City, if the other two DLC content weren't enough then wtf was all that disc space and additional content for?
I really think it's going to be a new location, and probably a location no one even thinks it could be rather than the ones people already speculate it to be (a.k.a Return to Vice City; Return to San Andreas; or Return to London if you remember the earlier versions of GTA). I'm just happy the series is continuing, GTA4 has been out for about...3, 4 years now?

GTA4 been out since 2008, so yeah 3 and a half years. I remember that GTA5 was one of the big rumors at E3 but that was a no go. My prediction when GTA5 is going to be release is maybe 2012 holiday season or even 2013 (Sources say that a new Xbox system is coming out that year as well as Sony)
In before when it does get released there's going to be controversy about "GTA ruins lives, think about the children! yadda yadda yadda"

Of course GTA will be targeted by FOX News and other media outlets, main reason is basically what got it put into the media in the first place about 10 years ago when GTA3 was released one month after the 9/11 attacks in New York. As well as being the #1 backing for the media to blame video games with disruptive, violent, and even "murderous" behavior in children/teens.
Won't be surprised if Rockstar pulls some pretty controversial stuff with this game again, it's almost a bit typical and routine for them to do so anyway and even if they don't, the media will DEFINITELY find some way to put blame on this game because it was released in a very unfortunate time and was labeled from then on as the most violent video game of all time according to the American media.
/didyouknowthat?
EDIT:
Sources from Kotaku say that GTA5 will be taking place in "a Los Angeles area", which if you are familiar with the GTA series this would mean that the possibility of returning to San Andreas is highly likely for this game.
Damn, kind of wanted to go back to Vice City but i really want to know how they will revamp San Andreas in this one if it's confirmed to be set in San Andreas, so far it's only rumored with no official comment from Rockstar saying where it will be.

Meanwhile you've got publishers like Atlus and Aksys who release so many controversial titles with adult concepts (Persona 3 has characters shoot themselves in the head while also getting good grades and 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors, other than comparisons with the memeworthy 999 plan, has some pretty gruesome stuff in text form) doesn't get a single minute of free publicity

Not bad Rockstar, it also seems like the engine's been a bit updated for this game, like a mix of Red Dead Redemption (during the windmill cut scene you can see how vibrant the "desert" area looks like). Very nice

GTAV is basically going to be San Andreas, except with a few things taken out and a few new things put in that GTA hasn't had before, and much of it is what made San Andreas so amazing.
So far, still not looking bad in my opinion, and the use of airplanes for use of traveling from one spot to another in the city seems pretty nifty

How does one expand Los Santos though...I mean going corner to corner took maybe 15min back in the day and that article makes it seem that going from the hills to the city takes 15min...so how does more land magically appear years after our first bout in the city?

Game of the generation for me. I'm really from L.A, (worked a while in St. Lucia, beautiful island) and this game feels like home.
