Based on what I understand so far, you wanted the noteskin to act like it does on the PS3? Right?
The problem is that, it may not be possible or is difficult to have stepmania noteskins work that way (if it's possible, then okay).
1. Don't know if doable.
2. I'm comparing his video to a direct line video I downloaded, I don't see this.
3. I don't know if it's possible.
4. From what I see, the arrow "shatters" when you hit it. In vivid, it is the color the arrow is currently in when it was hit. The explosion was likely generic since it may be hard to do that.
EDIT: He likely used the Move markers for mines. I see nothing wrong with that.

1)look at how the receptor responds when pressed and there is no note.
2)look how the particle explosion responds only when there is an amount of combo or when you hit perfect.
3)look how the particle explosion reacts when you hold a noteskin
4)look at the long explosions it shows when you hit a note, you don't even have that
Edit: also since when is the up/down left, and the up/down right receptor a mine

oh I can do it, I also remade krazy rain in stepmania
I'm not to famous here but on most community's I'm known as the best at noteskins
and 1 I already made work in the noteskins
2 3 and 4 are self explained in this video of the jamlegend noteskin I ported
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebbJhRXshzE
I can pretty much port every thing if I wanted, I just dont feel like porting this noteskin because its the same as the 3.9 port for metal, people are going to be used to the bad ports and are saying that my port is gonna be bad so I just dont see why it worth it

I think it's more about who delivered what first. If we are still referring to DDR PS3, let's keep in mind that it probably didn't sell too well, and despite the recording feature, no one took a close look at the noteskin (except that, it's different of course).
Maybe they'll notice later on that yours is a lot closer to what the DDR PS3 noteskin really looks and behaves like (kinda reminds me of DDR NewNovae and Takuya's DDR SN theme).

I'd actually like the PS3 noteskin for SM5... without the sparks if possible. Never understood why they only appeared on this one game while the Wii series is still trucking right along with a design introduced in late 2001!

Didn't I hear somewhere that the Wii notes are bit superior when playing in reverse? All I know is that it had something to do with freeze notes.

I just want everything to be as ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE Maybe they'll notice later on that yours is a lot closer to what the DDR PS3 noteskin really looks and behaves like (kinda reminds me of DDR NewNovae and Takuya's DDR SN theme).

Starting in HP3/Music Fit, I believe, they "fixed" the notes to where in reverse they show the actual arrow at the head of the freeze instead of it being at the end as if it were a regular freeze going in the opposite direction. I think they later did the same thing in DDR X2 AC but I can't vouch for it being there or not.
