Fighting Games

^.^ How does it stay alive, then?!

I dunno, maybe I'm just skepticial, but SF4 and KoF XII both scare me - like they're going to be "just pretty" games with little depth to them. I mean, SF4's debut premise was simply a graphically overhauled SF2... but it could be something fresh and wicked-cool, still. (Well, I guess they had to so SOMETHING, now that A3 - their BABY - is now broken from the "crouch cancel.")

KoF 2002 UNRIMITED MAHTCH!!! Now THAT is a title I'm looking forward to! (And fortunately, not for much longer!) XD

No, that's exactly what it was touted as by Capcom during development (Yoshinori Ono said himself that he "wanted it to be the seond coming of SF II) - a more "back to basics" approach (hence the character roster containing lots of oldies, too). Now, I didn't say that is what has been delivered ;p

And even that gameplay video you linked to supports this to a *certain* extent - in terms of dynamics, it looks nothing like a 3rd Strike match, and has only *some* similarities with Z2 (and I've played a lot of both SFZ2A and Third Strike, and owned the PCBs of both - along with SSF2X, they make my top 3 Street Fighter games of all time).

That's what they say but as a SF4 regular I know that's not a case.

I played SFIV in my local arcade (4 machines linked in pairs), and this mandatorily has to be in my collection. I'm looking forward to KOF XII because of the hardcore KOF fan in me. My only gripe with it is the small (compared to previous KOFs) character roster.

My Arcade has Tekken 5, Soul Caliber 2, Mortal Kombat 4 & SvC Chaos.//

Sadly, No one wants to challenge me because I have all the high scores on all of them. All machines have the difficulty on High but its not that hard. The A.I. on the games are too easy for me...but I win 50/50 on player controlled fights.//

So I got SF4 about 7 and a half hours ago. My playtime on SF4 is about 7 hr 30 min

My arcade has 2 Tekken 6.

Most of fighting games in my arcade are Tekken series...

Tekken 6 is the newest in here...
(It has very cool graphics )

but mostly Tekken 5 or Tekken TAG tournament...

Let's see all we have at this one arcade I frequent only has Tekken 6 BR, and MvC 2.

Though another I used to go to had a lot of older fighters.

Virtua Fighter 4, MvC2 Capcom vs. SNK 2, Virtua Fighter, Street Fighter Alpha 1 & 3, Tekken 4 & 5, and even Last Bronx.

Ever heard of the Neo Geo? I usually play that on a emulator when I need my arcade fix.
