how big should the frame size be to fit StepMania's screen like most videos in simfiles?

Thanks, I also have plans of my own for this.
BTW, sm-ssc supports widescreen resolutions (3.9 is limited to 4:3). Might out the version into consideration first, but it probably shouldn't matter in the long run.

A little warning; the higher the definition of the background videos, the more resources Stepmania uses. Also, 640x480 vs 16:9 480p? 640x480 uses less resources than the 16:9 one.

640x480 or 320x240. I use 320x240 because 640x480 lags in my StepMania.
