It's just like adding descriptions on simfiles,
the only difference is that you'll be adding one on the simfile category (owner only) to sum up what's in that simfile category

Pretty much works if you manage lotsa category and it's specific. Like... "IIDX songs stepped with varying difficulty!" -RaikouRider.

I still don't know if it has it's downsides... does it give the site more codes? More bandwidth problems?

The closest thing to that so far is...making a thread and describing it on the first post and then propagandizing.
Though idk if your idea would really work. I mean, people ignore description of simfiles. Would they not ignore your idea too?
(Not in this thread, but realistically speaking if it was implemented.)

It could... it's just another addendum to broaden the introduction of your Simfile category and your simfiles
