I totally want that EuroMIX2 variation. "AJ 187's Dancing Stage EuroMIX2" has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?
The only downside is to make it arcade accurate you'd have to restrict many common options such as allowing both players to select a different difficulty.
I always forget: where did the difficulty cards come from? Disc extraction, or did someone recreate them?

I am planning on having both "strict" and "StepMania" modes somehow available in the theme. (I said the same thing for 5th mix but haven't completed it yet.)
I extracted the difficulty card graphics from the disc (aside from "Master", which I edited).

That's awesome.
I would enjoy seeing an arcade-accurate and an "ideal" variation of the theme. I still find it interesting that Konami decided to implement selecting the difficulty after the song for us.

AJ stopped working on it because some certain people don't like SM5 because it's not SM 3.9 or OpenITG

that is what made me sad. I'm using SM5 as my primary SM and only use 3.9 for stepcharting and then move all the songs I've stepped to the SM5 song folder. I'm not going to use SM5 for stepcharting unless everyone accepts SM5 as their updated, much modern, more customizable and more acceptable than older versions.

I'd use SM5 when it's final.

I run 3 different SM programs. 3.9 (has all of the US CS DDR songs, plus a few songs that weren't part of the US CS, i.e PN Max (DM) (IR)in US CS DDR), 3.9 + Redux (has all JP AC DDR songs) and SSC (same with 3.9, but with songs in prefered sort/order that actually works (major kudos to that)) and do you see me complaining about it. No absolutly not. I don't mind seeing some of the 3.9 themes get ported over into SSC/SM5. IMO I'd say to hell with the naysayers and do the theme, because I love making themes.

2 main reasons why i prefer sm files (especially the one generated from 3.9 / 3.9+REDUX with EditSavePlusFeature OFF) over ssc are the simplicity and smaller size. Of course sm files are playable in all SM forks. I use SM5 for official gameplay.

I heard somewhere that SSC file format is not final, it's supposed to be radically different.
And themers having a little headache because they changed around some metrics.
Don't take my words for it though.

This is certainly the right thread for this conversation.
AJ, I for one would love to see work on your themes continue. You are the Takuya for StepMania 5 IMO and the greatest way to encourage migration to an up-to-date system is to put out content. StepMania 3.9 always had those loud few that would poo poo it in favor of DWI and the never-released DWI 3. StepMania 5 hasn't been any different.

I would really like to see this theme, But I feel like SM 5 Isn't getting enough popularity as Sm 3.9 and OpenITG is.... But then again, SM5 is still a Work in Progress, and It's currently at Alpha 3.... So same thing with Themes, they have to work up from Preview 4 to Alpha 3 and onward....

The problem with this attitude is that the developers need the community to help them reach this point. With the community constantly testing and reporting on its use, the developers can take the feedback and work with it as the project moves towards completion.
Too many people are taking this stance and it's really starting to bother me. "OH THE PROGRAM DOESN'T WORK PERFECTLY I'M NOT GOING TO USE IT YET." It's in alpha goddammit they had no reason to release it in the first place but maybe they thought getting some feedback from users could help. Use it, point out the bugs, give positive feedback on what does work, and SM5 will be everything the previous iterations of SM were and more.
I personally have been reporting my use and my thoughts as I wish to see SM5 more widely used.
As for the theme, SM5 needs more DDR styled themes! Starlight is still being worked on, but that's more modern-styled and doesn't cover old-school themes like MAX2. I think it's something that the community would really like to see (myself included!).

Sorry, I'm not the bug seeker type. So that doesn't apply to me.
And FYI I use SM5. Rarely. Because I don't rely on it for stepcharting. Combine that with that first sentence. So there.
Also everyone needs to stop shoving shit onto others.

Go ahead, use Apple Maps then instead of Google Maps. Enjoy.
Also, this thread is one of the example why I dislike SM5. You know who Jousway is right?
Oops I derailed this thread further. Meh, it's abandoned anyway.
