I don't know how to answer your question since SEGA had a console that was competing against the PlayStation, and I don't really know the margin of time when the Dreamcast support was over up to before the PlayStation 2 came out (where SEGA published games for).

It's just unnatural (if not unheard of) for a hardware manufacturer to publish games on a rival console. We just won't have console exclusives if that were frequent and it would show that the company is not confident on the capabilities of their console. Or for an even worse scenario, a video game crash.

I would have to agree with Mageman on this. The Sega Saturn was around at the time of the PSOne (or PSX if you prefer) and then the Sega Dreamcast was launched before the PS2 after that it was only about a year into the PS2s life that Sega stopped the production of the Dreamcast and started on focusing on game development.

So at the time of the PSOne, it would have been considered not only unnatural and unheard of, but rather unholy for Sega, especially for the Sega fanboys out there, to develop games for a rival console.

Ps1 was so long ago, so it is hard to remember what I had... >_<

-Twisted Metal (1-4)
-Crash Bandicoot (MY FAVORITE SERIES 1-3, Bash, CTR)
-Spyro (loved this one, too 1-3)
-Tomb Raider (I liked this one 2 & 3)
-PS1 DEMO DISKS OF WIN! (had like several of them)
-Yugioh! Forbidden Memories (I didn't approve too much of the gameplay, but I loved the plot and the fusion possibilities....of Twinheaded Thunder Dragon XD)
-Croc (3rd love after Crash and Spyro 1 & 2)

There were some others, but I can't remember that long ago. XD This reminds me to find some of these games to collect when I have the money.

Too bad the PS one did not get any SEGA games when SEGA released games for newer generation Sony systems during the PS one's later days (I think the only SEGA games to be on PS one are the Puyo Puyo games). SEGA could have at leased re-released Sonic Adventure DX, 2: Battle, or Heroes for the PS one during its death and last days instead of Electronic Arts having to release their newer sports games on outdated systems.

The PS1 couldn't handle any of those, plus the first two are gamecube exclusive to this day so you're high if you think sega should have ported those to PS1.

It's also on Xbox Live Arcade & PlayStation Network, though you have to get the DX Upgrade add-on to get the full Sonic Adventure DX experience.

I remember getting my PS1 back in 1997 (or was that 1998? can't remember anymore...) with Brave Fencer Musashi (Squaresoft). It brought a demo of Final Fantasy VIII which had mindblowing graphics back then, lol! Along with these two games, here my own personal list of the most memorable games I got to play:

Final Fantasy 7 (favorite game ever!)
Final Fantasy Tactics
Final Fantasy 8
Final Fantasy 9 (notice a trend? pretty much everything squaresoft made back then was awesome, except that pesky "Ehrgeiz" game...)
Metal Gear Solid
Legend of Legaia
DDR US & Konamix Happy
Tail Concerto
Alundra (sooooo underrated, a 2D masterpiece!)
Tekken (all of them)

So many of them...late 90s were incredible.

Ooohhh, Alundra. I would so recommend it to everyone. A puzzle game with rich plot and semi-Old English language with a bit of humor. Also the Spyro series, I only had the first one, but it was good. Did have to stop playing for months when the gameplay gave me headaches (the camera turning thing). When I finally get a PS3, Spyro 3 is the first game I'm gonna get on PSN (since the ROMs available had the anti-piracy feature still unpatched).

Crash Team Racing
R4: Ridge Racer Type 4
Gran Turismo 1 & 2
Digimon World 3
Final Fantasy VIII
Harvest Moon: Back 2 Nature
DDR 2nd ReMix, 3rd mix, 4th mix, 5th mix, KONAMIX

I can't believe I neglected to mention the Megaman Legends/Tron Bonne games when I first posted here.

And just what the hell is wrong with "that pesky Ehrgeiz game"?

...Okay, so the main fighting game and most of the mini-games were pretty shit, but that "Quest Mode" alone was worth the cost, and surprisingly in-depth for something that was supposed to be a "mini-game".

Most rhythm games I played on PSX...

DDR 2ndReMIX (the cd is sitting in front of me lol)
DDR 3rdMIX
DDR 4thMIX
DDR EXTRA MIX
DDR Disney Mix (I dunno how to properly spell this)
DDR EuroMIX
Perfect Performer
Pacapaca Passion (this is a good game with good tunes)
Bust A Groove 2 (or Bust A Move? I forgot)

and here I have Dancing Stage PARTY EDITION, by KONIMA (lol)

also I liked Ballistic, Digimon Rumble Arena, Stuart Little 2, Pepsiman, RESCUE SHOT BUBIDO (this one was an import from Japan)... oh so many more.

Oh yeah I forgot Ninja Katori. (or was it Hatori?)

Fun fact: I still have quite functioning PSX, maybe the optics is weak already. I guess it's region free, since DDR 2ndReMIX and DDR EuroMIX plays on it fine.

Final Fantasy II
Final Fantasy VI (from Final Fantasy Anthology)
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy Tactics
Vagrant Story
Resident Evil 3
Dino Crisis 2
DDR 1st - 5th Mix, Konamix, Disney Mix, and Best Hits
Silent Hill
Mortal Kombat 4
Street Fighter Zero 3

@Silverhawke: => Our consoles in SE Asia all seem to be modified to play discs from all regions even before purchase. PS2s here in the Philippines are also like that (I realized that when I played FFX International, US, and JP on my unit - they all worked). Neutral

"The eurobeat journeyman!"
Recently I bought Pac-Man World and I'm loving it. Great graphics, fun gameplay with interesting twists on the classic game, and cool cinematics. But about the game's boss, Toc-Man.... I am at a loss for words. 4 words: who the hell wasthat? If he's trying to impersonate Pac-Man, then whoever designed him did a horrible job.
UPCOMING: My newest simfile project...

CTR: Crash Team Racing
Pepsi-Man

and the one I like the most...

I'm a DDR player, but never make a AAA.
No, I'm not a IIDX player, but I'm a BMS player.
No, I'm not pnm player, and I haven't play pnm simulator yet.

Oh yeah right! I completely forgot BISHI BASHI SPECIAL! Man, that was fun... I guess I should look for the CD. I believe it's somewhere in my house, piled up and hidden. I really should make the ISO for that.
