Power Gig: Rise of the SixString will transport players to an entirely new universe, with its own mythology, politics, settings, heroes and villains, where music rules all. On the gameplay front, Power Gig uses new technology that represents the next evolution of music performance games to provide all players - from casual gamers to the hardcore, from those who have never before picked up a guitar to those who play guitar on a regular basis - with a more authentic and fun experience. The game offers two overarching modes of play. In addition to traditional beat-matching that will be familiar to fans of the band game genre, Power Gig also introduces the option to switch on chording, or chord play. Chording presents the added challenge of playing the game using chords that require specific finger placement on the strings. As players progress through the game, becoming more comfortable with a genuine guitar and potentially choosing to play real power chords, they will find that the byproduct of playing the game is coming away from it with an understanding of some real-life guitar fundamentals.

Songlist featuring exclusive artists such as Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews Band, and Kid Rock

Rhythm genre dying out? I think not! This looks like a cool game. Definitely worth a buy/rental.

"Oh god what I have dooooone?!"
"potentially choosing to play real power chords,"

Oh yay, as if we didn't have enough music made up of those.

But yeah seems this is now the new thing to try and do - make real instruments into game controllers to pull in the real musician crowd too.

Same as dancing - dance evolution and all that.

Awful to the point that you can buy bundle packs for this game for less than $20 in retail stores.

Pretty much it's getting the same treatment Rock Revolution got months after release and ridicule.

Actually that depends if Harmonix allowed the Power Gig "real" guitar to be played as a "Pro Mode" Guitar for RB3, if not then your SOL, if they did then heck i'll get the bundle just for the guitar then :v

I'll use the Power Gig disk as a butt back scratcher.

"DINGDONG♥HEARTS"
The Rock Band Fender Squier controller uses sensors that are abuilt into the neck of the guitar to pinpoint your fingers for the game. Without those sensors, RB3 will not be able to pick up what frets your trying to play.

Power Gig's guitar does not have the sensors in the neck of the guitar. As such, it will not work with Rock Band3.
